"Where the hell have you been?!" Your eyes widened at Mina's outburst, the fuck was she shouting for? And it wasn't like you could tell her to shut up I mean hangovers were technically illegal.
"I got wasted," you mumbled pushing her back into your apartment. "Had one drink too many," you slipped off your shoes. "Didn't expect them to be so sweet." Your apartment was... well it was a combination of both of you. There was lots of pink which was only neutralized but whatever color you had choose to add in. This meant certain areas were only two colors while some were... interesting. You weren't inclined to impulsive buys bought that lamp was on sale, and so was that pillow and so were those plates, and it looked nice. The place was certainly cozy and unlike Bakugo's place yours had a vibe, every corner was a mood.
"Yeah no shit, you ran off to the bathroom and never came back." She screeched throwing her hands up in exasperation.
"It's not like I forgot, I blew up this morning when I remembered."
"It would have been nice for you to remember last night, Camie had to take your place."
"So she made more money she can't be mad about that." You placed your palm flat against the wood of your door.
"I was worried about you." Her large fluorescent eyes were the color of worry and had pupils filled with anxiety. "Girl, you're my bestfriend at least tap me on the shoulder before you go." She extended her arm out towards you then reveling the jacket you had left behind last night.
"I'm really sorry, I blacked out." You dragged your hand over the fabric of your jacket the material was so different from what you had used to replace it. Bakugo's dress shirt had a kind of transparency to it, and the buttons were larger than what your hands were used to. "This nice guy took me home and even then I was kind of bitch the whole way."
"Was his place nice? Was he cute? Did you sleep with him? I'm hoping you were sober when you did, you were sober right?" She grabbed at the white shirt and brought it up to her nose, "he smells good."
"Mina!"
"Sorry, answer me though."
You shook your head smiling at her as you pushed open your bedroom door. "I didn't sleep with him, even if I had I wouldn't have been sober."
"Good, good, good." She rocked side to side on her feet, her bouncy curls moving along with her. "But hypothetically if you were sober you would have right?"
You pulled open your wardrobe feeling gross in yesterdays clothes. It was all clean- curtesy of Bakugo- but you still felt grimy. I mean you hadn't even taken a shower. "He has a cute roommate you know."
"Don't change the subject," she pointed an accusing finger.
"Sorry," you pulled open a drawer. "I don't know, maybe? It was the fighter from yesterday."
She gasped, eyes doubling in size so that they nearly took up half her face. "The black haired one!"
"What no, the blonde." You pulled out a pair of silk shorts and then closed the drawer with the side of your hip.
Her lip had started to do this weird thing, she was disgusted and confused. Despite this fact she was still trying her best to understand you. "But he's so mean? Did you not hear Camie's summary? He's arrogant, and proud, and a mean bully with an ugly face."
"Yeah until he cracks a grin." You plucked a pajama top, pulling it off the hanger and tossing that aside somewhere.
"Your eyes are all foggy."
"What?"
"You heard me, don't let your eyes get all foggy, don't let your judgement cloud." She placed a hand on her hip, popping it outward before swishing her right pointer about in the air. "We wear no rose colored lenses in this house," she said matter of factly. However she had shut her eyes so she had no clue she was speaking to a now empty room.
"Anyways," you rolled your eyes. The brass knob leading to your small bathroom was loose and bound to fall off at any moment, still you turned it like it was brand new.
"Where the hell did you go?" Mina spoke form your room, it made you snort. Carefully you slid off the dress shirt folding it over the towel rack, Mina was right it did smell really nice. Your dress had already begun to slip down your shoulders that broken strap basically killing whatever support you had.
You bent down to open the cabinet under the sink, "hey where'd you put that conditioner!" You shouted, startling when you found Mina already at the doorway.
"In the shower already, why you need it?"
"Washday, deep scrub."
"So about that roommate?"
You scoffed slipping out of the rest of your dress. "Red-head, I think it's dyed that way though."
"Is it bright," she asked clearly skeptical.
"It's not a bad color, and he's smile real cute."
"Yeah? Is it sexy?"
"More on the innocent side, not sure if he is though he's got some muscle to him."
"Could you see them? Were they nice?" She closed the lid of the toilet and sat there while you entered the shower.
"Couldn't see them all that well through the clothes, he's nice though and.. funny I guess." You tore open the brand new box of ivory soap, tossing the cardboard over the curtain.
"Damn, now I'm curious."
"You're bound to see him."
"Are you gonna see blondie again?"
"Yeah, I mean I gotta return his clothes."
"Sure," Mina shrugged.
That reminded you, "hey could you do me a favor?"
"Yeah sure anything for you love."
"Could you find out how Camie knows him?" Steam flowed out over the rusting rod that held up your shower curtains, the warm clouds cascaded down to the tiled floor in a kind of waterfall. When you moved out of this place and finally got an apartment you could make your own, you'd get sparkly white tiles and silver everything for your bathroom. You didn't want any of the cheap stuff either, no everything has to last.
