Jooyeon wakes up in his room, gets ready, and goes down to the garage. He hoists up the garage door, letting the sun inside, and rubs his eyes. "Wow," a voice makes him jolt. He turns around and sees Sunghoon. "This is where The Heroes make music," Sunghoon mumbles, looking around. Jooyeon finds himself gazing at Sunghoon, who catches him staring. "Thank you for your hospitality," Sunghoon says, and Jooyeon nods. Sunghoon smiles, looking at the microphone. Jooyeon shuffles awkwardly."Jooyeon!... and Sunghoon?" Jake calls from across the street, Jake jogs across the street. "Hey.. uhm what's going on here?" Jake asks skeptically, Jooyeon smiles sheepishly, and Sunghoon speaks up.
"How loud are these speakers?" Sunghoon asks, Jake looks over Jooyeon's shoulder. "Pretty loud," Jake replies, and Sunghoon nods, continuing to explore. Jake turns back to Jooyeon, "did he sleep over?" Jake asks, Jooyeon nods, and Jake gives him a look. "I'm raiding your fridge," Jake deadpans and walks past Jooyeon.
"You want some cereal?" Jake asks Sunghoon as he walks by, and Sunghoon smiles, going to follow Jake. Jooyeon sighs. "Oh, what the hell," he says, then walks to the kitchen.
"Shouldn't you be in school?" Jake asks, pouring milk into the cereal bowl. Sunghoon rests his head on his hand, "Yes," he answers. Jake shrugs, and Jooyeon enters the kitchen. "Don't expect me to make you cereal too," Jake says, to which Jooyeon replies, "Wasn't planning on it," while putting the bowl of milk into the microwave. Sunghoon smiles at Jooyeon.
Jooyeon checks his phone, furrows his brows, and then shows his phone to Jake, who gasps. "Really?" Jake asks, and Jooyeon nods with a smile. Sunghoon watches, confused. "What just happened?" Sunghoon asks. "We just got a new gig for our album, that's what," Jake says. Sunghoon's face lights up.
"I'm calling Ni-ki," Jake says, but Jooyeon interjects, "He's in school." "I highly doubt that," Jake smiles and walks out to the hallway. Jooyeon looks at Sunghoon, wondering what thoughts are going through his mind.
Rewrite: As Jooyeon and Sunghoon continue to talk in the kitchen, they discuss how Sunghoon will learn the songs for the upcoming gig. "I can send you the recordings" Jooyeon offers to send Sunghoon recordings of their songs and sheet music to help him practice. Sunghoon agrees, expressing his excitement to be part of the band and perform with jooyeon and the rest.
As they finalize the details, Jake returns to the kitchen, his phone still in hand. "Ni-ki is on his way. He couldn't wait to hear the news," Jake says with a grin. Moments later, the garage door opens, and Ni-ki enters, looking curious. "What's all the fuss about?" he asks, his eyes shifting between Jooyeon, Sunghoon, and Jake.
"We got a new gig for our album, and Sunghoon is going to join us," Jooyeon announces. Ni-ki's eyes widen with excitement. "For real?!" Ni-ki says, shaking Sunghoon's hand enthusiastically.
Over the next few hours, Sunghoon immerses himself in learning the band's songs. Jooyeon lounges on the couch, engrossed in his phone. Sunghoon spends time practicing with his own instruments, but as he plays, he keeps hitting the wrong chord repeatedly. Frustration creeps into his expression, and he furrows his eyebrows in concentration.
Jooyeon notices Sunghoon's struggle and looks up from his phone, his curiosity piqued. He stands up and walks over to where Sunghoon is sitting. Gently, he goes behind Sunghoon and places his hands over Sunghoon's on the guitar. "Hold it like this," Jooyeon soothes, guiding Sunghoon's fingers to the correct positions.
As Jooyeon helps Sunghoon adjust his grip, the sound from the guitar starts to flow beautifully. Sunghoon nods in appreciation, his eyes locked on the guitar. Jooyeon continues to assist Sunghoon in playing the song until it's over. Once they finish, Jooyeon slips away, allowing Sunghoon to process the newfound knowledge.
