Chapter 8

*A Week Later* ( The song Luke and Jade are singing is 2 Is Better than 1, the lyrics are in the video above)

Luke's POV

Today was the start of the Duet Battles and to be honest I was getting pretty nervous. Even though Jade and I finished practicing our song and we had it down perfect there was just something about preforming in front  of the class.  I look at the clock seeing that it was 1:28,  it is almost time for choir to start and Mrs. Evans was clearly waiting to start class and start the battles. I sat and waited for the bell, but it never rang that never happened.  I started to think of reasons why it would have not rang. But my train of thoughts was broken by Mrs. Evans starting class.

"Okay class, today we will be preforming our duets today" She says over the chatter of the students.

"Please don't pick me to go first, I don't go first"  I think as  I close my eyes and cross my fingers. But  it didn't work. My heart dropped to the floor when I heard Mrs. Evans call me and Jade to go first. I sigh as I follow jade to the front of the room waiting for the music to start.

A few seconds later the music starts and  I start to sing

Luke
"I remember what you wore on our first date

Jade

Luke & Jade

When we finished singing everyone was clapping and it felt great to be done with it.  Now everyone else had to go then Mrs. Evans would announce the winner, the group that would be preforming in the talent assembly. I kind of hoped that it would be Jade and I, but I didn't know if I really wanted to preform in front of the whole school.. I guess I would just have to wait and see who won
