Chapter 1

Ashton's POV

I was shocked when Mrs. Evens told us that we were going to be tested by doing Duet Battles. I had known that she did this as a test, but that was ususally in second semester. But I was fine with it being now I guess. The sooner the better right. I was super curious as to who i would be paired up with. Mrs. Evans walks over to her desk and grabs a clipboard out of the top drawer.

"As I call your name please stand up then come stand by me and I will assign your partners for the battles" She says as she stands in front of the piano and starts to call out names. She goes though most of the class before she calles out a name i recongnized "Jade, your paired with Luke" Luke walks up alongs with a girl I was assuming was Jade and stands by Mrs. Evens."Michael, your paired with Jesy" Michael and Jesy walk up and talk to Mrs. Evans. "Calum, your paired with Leigh-Anne" Calum walks up with Leigh-Anne and then sits back down. I was now the only one left. "Perrie, your paired with Ashton" I hear Mrs Evans say. I stand up and walk over to Mrs. Even with Perrie. "Okay, you guys need to pick a song ot preform as your duet and tell me what it is by the end of this week" She says. With that i turn and sit back down in my seat."The Winners of the battes will get and instant place i nthe talent show" Mrs Evens says as all the students are preparing for the warm ups.

After the Duet Battle assignment were done we warmed up and practiced for auditions. even though most of us were not really plannning on auditioning at all. She made us do it, so we did it. Even though it felt stupid we did it becasuse we wanted to pass the class. the grade was based on partitpation and attendance. Luckily the bell rang within a half hour and the class was over. Now it was time for luch then it was only one more period until the end of the day. I grab my backpack and walk out the door to the cafeteria to find Luke, Michael and Calum at our ususal table, but hen I get to the table i see that Jade and Jesy were talking to Luke and Michael at the table. I walk over and introduce myself to them and talk until Calum arrives. Jade pulles Jesy away to go find Perrie and Leigh-Anne. I wave goodbye as they walk down the hall.
