Several boos were happily hovering around their King, high pitched laughs and long pink tongues lolling out in satisfaction. The leader's own blue tongue lolled out, followed by the largest toothy smile a boo could ever conceive. "Ah... My loyal subjects! It is good to be here with you all again!" King boo's smile suddenly began to dissipate. The boos around him changed their expressions to match the kings own. "However, there is still some things that are missing. First and foremost, I must have a Luigi painting along side my Mario one as soon as possible."
"As you should your majesty, but how do you suppose we start? We can't just fight a ghost hunter who is armed without a proper plan." One boo spoke up.
"That's our only problem. I wouldn't dare put my subjects in danger again! Luigi and that old coot, Professor E. Gadd have it out for bookind. They will stop at nothing to take us all down to reduce our numbers. I just can't stop thinking about all the ways they tried to humiliate us and... yes, the real problem is that stupid vacuum—" King Boo growled in frustration.
"What kind of ruler would I be if I didn't retaliate when my subjects were being treated like trash by those repulsive ghost hunters!? All of you need to feel protected..." He definitely wasn't still holding this grudge on behalf of his subjects... He absolutely hated that he'd been 'beaten' especially by a coward like Luigi. He would never let that failure slide.
The King looked into a mirror remembering the power enhancing amethyst jewel. "Perhaps... This jewel can help us! Maybe I can give you a special ability of your own to use in combat against Luigi! Gather around me, my fellow boo comrades and I shall share a portion of my power to all of you!"
Mario's painting was sitting upside down against a wall, hearing every single word the boos were saying. "Oh Luigi... Please stay safe... You gotta get us both outta this! You gotta!"

Luigi waited patiently until E. Gadd was ready to send him off on his next mission when he was finally called back, the Professor immediately began randomly talking."I tell ya, Luigi, some things in this world are just too strange to be real. Some are real, of course, but some are illusions." He began.
"What do you mean by that, Professor?" Luigi asked.
"Here, I've got something to show you." Professor Gadd stated, he picked up a jar from his work desk that held a wispy-like, light purple orb inside of it.
"What is that?" Luigi asked, curiously.
"This is a Spirit Ball, a paranormal specimen with the ability to cause illusions. And someone is releasing a whole mess of 'em inside the Gloomy Manor!" Professor Gadd explained.
Like a curious child, Luigi tried reaching out to the container, trying to grab it from the Professor's hand to try to inspect it closer but Gadd quickly moved it away waving a finger in protest.
"That's why some of the objects in there—even whole suits of armor—have suddenly vanished! But trust me... They're still there!" Gadd went on.
"I noticed that the armor from the Guard Hall weren't there anymore the last time I checked, but when the lightning struck I still saw their silhouette on the wall where they should have been. Those spirit balls must be what affected them." Luigi replied.
"Exactly, my boy! Luckily. I created a special Poltergust 5000 attachment a while back that will help us." The monitor screen from the ceiling came down again, only now it showed a flashlight-like device.
"That looks familiar. I think I've seen it before when I was in the lab earlier. I know exactly where it is so this should be a piece of cake. Just so as long as I don't get ambushed by ghosts along the way." Luigi said.
