Anemone was considered blessed. She was an animus. Such a great power! You can do whatever you want. But every dragon also knows about the catch. Too much and now your an evil murderer.
Anemone had so many things she wanted to do with her powers. Endless things to do, endless wishes! Just cast away her problems, give herself everything she could ever want! But that couldn't happen.
Her mother would always yap about Albatross and what he did when he went insane. The story got old, but Coral was very good at installing fear. She acted like she wasn't being trained every day to use the powers during the war.
Anemone was sitting on the beachside. She wasn't there with permission. Why would she?
She dipped her talons in the water and swished them around a little.
Two moons were full but the other was a waning crescent. The wind was calm and relaxing. It was a beautiful night.
Anemone seen a shape moving in the water. She wasn't scared until she realized it was the shape of a dragon.
She backed away as the shape moved closer. As it came closer it was more easy to see what species it was. It was a Skywing. Why? How? What would a Skywing be doing swimming around near the Seawing kingdom at this time of night?
The dragon emerged from the waters. Her scales were shiny and a deep blood red, with what seemed like hints of real blood stains splattered across her entire body. Her amber eyes glinted in the lights of the moons. She didn't seem too much older then Anemone.
"Hello Anemone," her voice was elegant yet sounded sickly at the same time.
"Who are you? What are you doing here? H-how do you know my name?" Anemone asked.
Anemone wasn't normally scared of strange dragons but this Skywing just felt wrong. Anemone noticed that the dragon in front of her did not appear to breathing.
"My name is Sunset. I am here because of something that happened long ago. Some unfinished business," she said.
"You didn't answer how you know my name."
"Oh! I know that because I know everything about your family, dear."
"Could you explain your unfinished business please?" Anemone's voice was getting shaky.
"No need to be afraid Anemone. You've definitely heard of your little ancestor named Albatross. When he killed us he must of done something. A different enchantment then just killing us. We were forced to walk around this mortal plane without being seen! But now I guess it had expired. And now I'm here get rid of the remaining animus of the Royal Seawing family. Starting with you," Sunset said, her voice get even more sick sounding as she kept speaking.
"Do I have a time limit or will you just kill me right here," Anemone said quietly.
"What do you want? Do you hate your life and want it to end? Or do you love it dearly and want me to spare you?"
"Should've come earlier since I would've let you kill me a couple years ago. But I want you to spare me for now. Just watch me for the next week or something. Then I will let you do whatever you want to me."
"I will watch you carefully dear."
And with that, Sunset faded away.
Anemone padded back into the water.
