Colby sat in timeout, crying, and screaming with a red, stinging bum. He had just gotten spanked because he broke a glass cup and he threw his sippy cup at Jake. Colby sat on the hard steel, with his nose in the corner.

He was tempted to get up and make a run for it to his bedroom in enough time to close and lock the door. But he knew he couldn't. His crying slowed and his breathing slowly regulated. he popped his pacifier into his mouth and tried to calm down.

Jake went to the corner to check on him and see why he stopped crying and screaming. He looked at his head slouched in the corner. Jake rubbed his back to wake him up and Colby raised his head to look at him. The second Colby laid his eyes on Jake, he raised his arms to be picked up.

He accepted his offer, picked him up, and brought him upstairs to where Jake was. He sat on the bed with Colby standing in front of him. "Did you learn your lesson baby?" asked Jake. Colby looked at the floor and nodded. "Eyes up here baby," said Jake softly. 

Colby looked up and wiped his tears. "Hey hey, why are you crying, sweet boy?" Jake was concerned, he didn't say anything that might have upset Colby.  "I was bad and daddy mad... I sowwy..." Jake picked Colby up and rubbed his back. "you think it's time for a nap bud?" Jake was hoping he would at least try to take a nap for a couple of minutes.

Colby was tired from all the crying, screaming, kicking, and whining he did today. Colby nodded and laid his head on Jake's shoulder, taking in his cologne. He fell asleep on his daddy's chest as he brought Colby to his room. Jake slowly laid him down on his bed and put his favorite blanket on him.

Jake turned on his night light and backed out of his room, closing his door in the process.
