Jake pouted and stomped his feet. "I'm not a baby!!" He whined.

"Baby, just slip, you've been putting it off all week!" Colby told him. Jake wanted that to be the last thing he did today. It was Friday and he still had things to do.

Things Colby could do himself. They were simple tasks, just editing a little piece of Jake's video and checking emails.

Jake didn't want Colby to go through the trouble of taking care of him and taking care of his responsibilities.

Nonetheless, going through his emails and editing a new video was a piece of cake for Colby. He got everything down in under 2 hours.

"Emails are knocked out and I have about a quarter of the video left. But the video won't be posted until tomorrow so you have a lot of time to slip, baby." Colby said. Jake was shocked... Colby had never done things this fast.

In reality, he does, but Jake never pays attention because he's doing his own thing.

Jake began to fall into the younger mindset. Jake was worried Colby would become overwhelmed with him. Jake can sometimes be a lot when he's little.

"It's alright baby. Just let it all go. I'm not going anywhere." Colby whispered. Jake whined and hugged Colby.

Colby chuckled and laid him down on the bed to change his clothes.

"Plaid Pj's or Spongebob Pj's?" Colby asked the sleepy boy. "Pizza Pj's!" Jake exclaimed. "Dada's gotta wash that, it's not clean." He explained. Jake whined once more. "Spongebob Pj's!" He huffed angrily.

"Don't get an attitude with me. I will not hesitate to put you in timeout." Colby told him. Jake pouted, again. "Sowwy..." He mumbled.

"You're forgiven, Bub. " Colby responded. Colby picked up the plaid onesie and slipped it on Jake. Colby found his black pacifier and popped it into Jake's mouth.

Colby pecked his cheek which made the little giggle. He chuckled back at him as he picked up Jake and laid him under the blankets. Colby kissed his cheek and nuzzled his hair a bit before turning off the lights, leaving the room dimly lit by a night light in the corner.

"Don't leave! Wanna sleep wif you!" Jake exclaimed as Colby left the room.

Jake continued crying and crying and crying and crying.

Colby was trying to ignore his wails. Jake had to learn how to sleep on his own. Almost every night, Jake slept beside, behind, in front, or on top of Colby.

Colby wasn't doing this because every morning he woke up with Jake in his bed, he was doing this because Jake used to sleep on his own, but somehow he developed a habit of forcing Colby to let him sleep with him.

Jake's cries became louder by the minute. His noise echoed through the hallway and still reached Colby's room.

Colby was losing his mind. His heart broke into a million pieces when Jake's voice became hoarse and he began coughing and hiccuping.

Jake sat up and immediately ran for Colby's room. He couldn't say no. Jake waddled into Colby's arms and sniffled. Colby rubbed his back and guided them into his bed.

"I'm so sorry, baby. I just wanted to see if you could sleep on your own. Just hush, let's go to bed." Colby whispered.

"I sowwy Dada. My room is too dark and scary!" Jake whimpered. Colby shushed him and let him fall asleep.

Jake was going to sleep on his own tomorrow.

He just doesn't know.
