When Michelle walks into her bedroom she sees her three-year-old niece Ashley sitting on her bed watching TV. "What are you doing here?" says Michelle. Her niece starts giggling before she replies, "Watching TV" says Ashley. Michelle sits next to Ashley on the bed to join her. Just for a second Michelle imagines her niece as her child, she begins to marvel if she is meant to be a mother, seconds later she thinks, "No seventeen-year-old girl should become a mother this young.

Michelle snaps back, she started feeling those same sharp stomach pains that she had earlier but this time those pains were worse, she had no choice but to scream.  Her scream scared Ashley, who jumped then turned around and said "what's wrong"? "Go get grandma" says Michelle. Ashley jumps off the bed then said "okay". Ashley starts running through the house saying "Grandma, Grandma Shelly needs you", Michelle's mother Carmen walked fast to get to Michelle's bedroom.

"What's a wrong baby," says Carmen. "My stomach is hurting me bad. Can you take me to the emergency room?" says Michelle. Carmen goes into her bedroom, grabs her purse, then yells for Howard who is sitting on the front porch to come help get Michelle in the car since the pain Michelle was having made it hard for her to walk. Once Howard gets Michelle in Carmen's car, the car speeds off to Norwegian American Hospital.

The car pulls up in front of the hospital, Carmen signals for a doctor to come help, the doctor comes out with a wheelchair then helps Michelle into it and asks her what's wrong. While in the hospital, not only was she having stomach pains, but she had thought that she urinated on herself.  When the doctors got Michelle all checked out, Michelle also had a high fever. The doctors quickly notified Carmen, they told her that they were able to get the fever down. What the doctors said next, caught Carmen by surprise. The doctors told her that Michelle also had a miscarriage. Earlier when Michelle thought that she urinated on herself there was a bloodstain on the pants that she was wearing that she didn't notice.

"A miscarriage?, I didn't even know that she was pregnant", says Carmen. Michelle spent a day in the hospital until she started to feel better. Her mother was right by her side, ready to castigate her about why she kept being pregnant a secret. "We will talk when we get home".

The two of them finally arrived home, Carmen was furious. "Did you think that you could have kept something like this a secret?", says Carmen. "To be honest, I didn't know what to do or what to say, to anyone, including you, mom and I already knew how you were going to react," says Michelle. "React how, by telling me how stupid you are, for having unprotected sex, then getting pregnant and trying to keep it a secret," says Carmen. "I don't want to hear this right now when you're mad like this," says Michelle who gets out of the car she walked fast down the street.

Headed in the direction of David's house, she didn't have to walk far because David was already walking in her direction. David finally approaches her. Michelle falls right into his arms with tears rolling down her face. "What's the wrong baby girl?" says David. "We got to talk now," says Michelle. David looks at Michelle for a second then says, "Um my mom just left for work, let's walk down to my house and talk there. "Okay," says Michelle. The two of them walk toward David's house holding hands.

The two of them walk into David's house. He leads her into his bedroom then he closed the door. "So what's up? Where you been?" says David as he sits down on his bed. "Uh, In the hospital," says Michelle. "Hospital? For what?" says David. "Remember the day when you, me, and Tiffany were walking home?" says Michelle.  "Yeah I remember", says David. " I started having stomach pain, but I didn't say anything. And when I got home, the pain had started again, it felt like I had a bad stomach ache, then my mother rushed me to the hospital", says Michelle. "You should have told me. That's one thing that you should not have kept from me," says David.
