I step into the familiar coffee shop that I haven't seen in 2 years. It's a lightly dem cafe with just a few customers inside. The smell of coffee hit me like a truck, collecting my thoughts I walk up to the cashier that hasn't seemed to change with a big smile plastered on my face. The boy looks up and me, jaw dropped and eyes wide. I can't help but giggle a little.
"Oh my god, it's you!" he practically yells at me, eyes shining bright, happy to see me. "Where have you been?" he asks me, waiting for an answer patiently.
I smile while giving my explanation. "School." I say briefly not wanting to tell the full story. I give a small smile to the boy. He reads my expression and looks as if he's hesitant to say something. He shakes his head softly and makes eye contact with me.
"Well, I missed you." He says, giving me a big grin while tapping the little buttons on the tablet in front of him, putting in an order for me. I nod at his response, a little flushed while handing him my card before realizing.
"Wait. What did you order me?" the look of confusion is embarrassingly very noticeable on my face. He lightly giggles at me, while taking my card and inserting it into the machine in front of him.
"Your usual, obviously." he takes my card and the receipt and places it into my hands while smiling at me as he always does.
"I haven't been here in 2 years; how do you still know my order?" I ask, completely dumbfounded at how he's able to remember.
"Because it's odd..." he states with no shame. He looks up at me with a serious expression until he finally cracks and bursts out laughing. "Sorry sorry!" he says to me when he sees my serious expression.
"It's not weird." I place my card into my leather black purse and zip the pocket, placing it back onto my shoulder. He raises his eyebrows at me with a weird look on his face. I scoff at him while shaking my head, turning around, and taking a seat in my usual spot. It's a black wooden high-top two-set table. I guess it's meant for people to have dates but that's not me. This table is in a dark corner, I find it comfier like that.
Soon enough, Chan comes with my drink in hand. He sets it down in front of me, also putting a few napkins beside it. I smile at him until a toast is also set down. "What's this?" I ask him, clearly remembering I don't usually order a toast. "My usual is normally just a drink."
"I know. I just wanted to give you this. I paid for it, don't worry." he grins, his eyes turning moon-crescent again. Ugh. He's so painfully perfect. I thank him before he continues; "Oh! Will you be coming here more often now?" his eyes light up with hope.
"Yeah, I should be able to." I pick up my drink and give him one last smile before drinking it while he smiles in pure happiness.
"Okay," he says before jumping off of the high-top chairs and pausing in front of me. "I have to go back to work! See you later Y/N." he walks away, leaving me alone in the empty corner.
Secretly smiling to myself, I look down at my drink with a shrek styled cream art on top. "It's not odd..." I whisper to myself, proud of my choice for the last 2 and a half years.
I finish my coffee and toast, I'm about to leave when Chan comes back to my table and sits in the chair before me. "Would you like to hang out sometime soon? You don't have to if you don't want to, of course." he smiles slightly, leaning back.
"Are you going to murder me?"
"No?"
"Are you going to kidnap me?"
"No. You think I would do these things?" he makes a crying face and grabs his heart with both hands as if it had broken into pieces.
"I mean... you never know. You could have 20 girls in your basement right now." I shrug when he gasps.
"What?! I would never." he makes a disappointed face while I giggle at his reaction. "I live with seven other guys, by the way, they're pretty cool."
"Oh my God, that makes it even worse..." my eyes widen sarcastically with a worried look.
He laughs at my response, "You'll like them! I promise!" he says, making a fist with his right hand, showing his honesty and seriousness. I take a moment to think before deciding on my answer.
"Okay..." I finally let out, giving in to him after seeing his pleading puppy eyes. He looks at me with shining moon-crescent eyes after hearing me accept.
"Can I have your number?" he asks before he adds on; "So I can send you the time and address." he giggles nervously and raises his eyebrows before giving me his phone. I put in my number and hand his phone back to him. "Thank you! I have to go back to work again..." he laughs and shuts his phone off, putting it back into his pocket before jumping off the high-top chairs and landing on his feet.
"Okay, I also have to go," I say, also jumping off the high-top chairs. "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" we make eye contact and we both smile. Chan nods and walks away while I do the same.

I get back behind the counter when Jeongin walks up to me from back in the kitchen. "Did she like the toast I made?!" he asks, his eyes lighting up while waiting for my answer. I laugh before responding.
"Jeongin, even though it's your first day, I think everyone can make a toast..." I smile at him, the younger boy in front of me makes a pout face before I continue; "But yes, she loved it." I reassured the younger boy. He smiles and claps with joy.
"Who was she though? You knew her right?" he asks, I nod in response. "Is she your girlfriend?" he asks innocently. I turn to him in shock, my eyes wide.
"What? No. She just came to the shop a few years back and I remembered her." I defensively state, correcting Jeongin.
"Oh. Okay. I was hoping for a mom though... Since you're like my dad." he pouts.
