Two Goblins, No Brides?!

CHAPTER 5 𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑡ℎ 𝑏𝑦 𝑆𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑆𝑎𝑐𝑟𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑒

"Thanks for the food!", Ekiel smiles at them while he's helping clean the table.

"You're welcome.", Bible talked with them for awhile which he found out many facts about Bui thanks to Ekiel and Dom who was being such a chatter box.

Bui has been around for 130 years, for 100 he's been wandering the globe and has seen the world and humanity evolve. 30 years ago, the High Order decided to gather goblins and grim reapers to assign and avoid fights among the land.

Grim reapers ascend for Afterlife after 1000 years of service, whereas goblins ascend when they meet their bride which is a maximum of 100 years.

"He's all smiles but we know deep inside how he wants to ascend to the Afterlife like the others. We have been communicating with the ones above but all they say is timing is everything or whatnot. Suprisingly, Bui remembers his memory with his family."

It seems like Build is a special case, all the goblins were given different names and their memories dissapeared.

"What about you? Do you have any idea?", Dom then suddenly appears between Nabi and Bible and took out a scarf and wrapped it carefully.

"I told you to wear a scarf the wind's cold here in the roof top."

"What are you my Mom? And why did you leave Ekiel at the office?", he flicks Dom's forehead which was quite a sight for Bible. Their height difference is something.

"If you want to flirt please do it when I'm not around."

Dom burst out laughing and even kissed Nabi who stormed off after punching his face.

"Fine, I'll go ahead. To answer your question, I think it's the way we died. We all died because we were betrayed, cursed or has commited a sin that death alone isn't enough as punishment. Maybe Bui died by self sacrifice.

" It's not common but it did happen to one of the goblins. She's an annoying woman though, I think you know her since you're from the same department? A higher up, she's here for 200 years already."

Bible then thought of their supervisor, Miss Nan. She's the only woman left since Lady Blair ascended with a groom already.

Just in time, Ms. Nan answered with her usual cheerful voice."My dear Bible, you haven't visited me that I thought you already married."

"I apologize Ms. Nan, would it be okay if I head to your office now?"

She then chuckled in the background.

"Come, tell me everything! I know that tone of yours, something's on your mind."

"Oh Mr. Hornbill? Yes! He comes here once in a while to take care of Lily."

"I didn't know he's that he's been here for a century already! That's why their close with my husband. It is quite possible that he died of self sacrifice but I met my mate. I made that choice instead of remembering my loved ones, he must have made the opposite.", Ms. Nan confirms their theory and bites on a a chocolate while watching kpop on a tv screen.

"So why hasn't he met his bride?", Bible inquires and nods to Diablo, his supervisor's husband.

Diablo is now wearing an apron and carrying their first child. The once famous grim reaper is now a busy househusband. His plans of conquering the world dissipated when he fell in love.

It was great or the End of the World would've happened earlier to wipe humanity out.

"I hate to break it to you but he kind off- doesn't have one?"

Suddenly there was a loud crash of plates and glass, food scattering everywhere, Build couldn't believe his ears and tears flooded his eyes.

All this time, he never had one?

He saw the mess he made and wiped his tears right away.

"I-I'm sorry guys..."

Diablo then used his power to devour the mess, Lili woke up and slowly walked to Bui's direction which he carried carefully."Hey, it's okay. You can sit down for awhile."

"I thought you knew Bud. But it's true, you're not bind to anyone. Still you do need a partner if you want to go to the Afterlife or stay here. That's your choice."

Bui's heart felt lighter after hearing that so he excused himself to take a walk.

He doesn't have a bride...

What the hell do I do now?
