Chapter six ~Expecting the unexpected~

Sophie woke up feeling nauseous and tired. Unsurprisingly Keefe was still asleep next to her. She decided to wake him up and tell him she felt weird.

She tried waking him up and after about 5 minutes he finally woke up to her using telekinesis to levitate him 30cm (11.8 inches) over the bed and dropping him.

"Ouch what was that for?" he asked her "Sorry, you wouldn't wake up and I feel like I'm going to be sick." she said.

He immediately sat up and started asking her questions and saying she can't go to work and that he's going to call Elvin and tell him it's an emergency. She hadn't seen him this tense in years, you could swear her skin was green and she had no pulse. She even forgot about her nausea for a second, trying to figure out whether he was being adorable or scary.

She reassured him saying that all that wouldn't be necessary. "Keefe I'm fine theres no need to bother Elvin and I need to read Amber's latest report.". He sighed "Sophie you're not going to work today." "But I have to, please Keefe just let me go I have lots to do." "Fine I'll meet you halfway I won't call Elvin and you'll stay home and rest." he tried compromising. "But-" "No buts Sophie, you're staying home." "Fine" she said in an annoyed tone.

"Good" Keefe started in a pleased tone "do you want anything for breakfast?" "Can you make me some porridge with blueberries and bananas." "Are you sure? I thought you didn't like porridge." "I don't know but I just want to try some." "Ok, be right back.". 10 minutes later Keefe walked back into the room with a bowl of porridge, "Ok, I have to leave now Edaline said she'd come over in a few hours to check in on you, till then heres some bottles of youth, a bowl incase you get sick, some mallowmelt, some ripplefluffs and your imparter incase you need anything. I'll have my imparter on me all day so if you need anything just hail me and I'll be right over." "Can you bring over some of my work?" "No you're not doing work at the office or at home, that's final." "Ok" "Bye get better soon." "Bye love you" "Love you." then he glittered away.

She finished her porridge and tried to go back to sleep. Unfortunately she failed to do so. She decided to pass the time by reading a book and having some mallowmelt which she immediately regret as she ended up puking it back up. 2 hours later her nausea was gone and she decided to hail Keefe.

He answered almost immediately "Sophie what happened what's wrong I'm on my way." he blurted out all at once "No there's no need to come over I wanted to tell you I'm not nauseous anymore and would be coming to the office." "No Sophie you're not coming here you're staying home in bed." "But I feel fine." "Do I need to ask Ro to babysit you?" "No" "Ok then, I love you." "Love you too" with that she hung up.

Keefe felt guilty about not hearing her out but he couldn't help his mind from replaying every single time she was in the healing center in Foxfire and while Sophie was annoyed she knew he was just looking out for her.

20 minutes later her imparter went off and when she answered it Biana's face covered the screen.

"Hey Sophie, are you ok. Keefe told me you weren't feeling well this morning. He looked super nervous when he came into my office." "Yeah I'm fine. I just felt a little nauseous this morning but I'm fine now. Also the weirdest thing happened, you know how I hate porridge, this morning I had a bowl of it for breakfast and it was SOOOO good." Biana's eyes widened. "What?" asked Sophie "Sophie, when was your last period?" "Umm I don't know. Wait I keep track of it on my calendar." this time it was Sophie whose eyes widened "Well?" asked Biana "Like 6 weeks ago" started Sophie, "you don't think im..." "I'll ask him to bring you a pregnancy test on his way home." "Thanks I'm pretty sure if I hail him again he's legitimately going to think I'm dying." "No problem, bye" "Bye"
