I called Bailey, and she was excited to hear that I'd met Josh again. Bailey and Josh's mom are sisters. They lived about 10 minutes away, so I'd see them a lot. My family, while they were alive, was always invited to the family reunions, which was more than twice a month. They'd come visit every summer, and Josh, Chris, and I would play every single day. When the Grobans moved away, Bailey kept in touch. But as time went by, they lost complete touch.
Bailey and Lewis said they'd come over the following week to visit Josh and I. She seemed really excited to see how he grew up. And Lewis really loved the boys. I was like his daughter to him, and he still loves me, but he had a big place in his heart for boys, which was filled by Josh and Chris.
A few days passed by, and life went as usual. I was making my supper one day, at around 8pm, when I had an urge to call Josh, to see if he got sick. That might sound kind of mean, but I wasn't really thinking of it in a mean way... I looked through my purse to try to find the business card with his number on it. I finally found it and punched in the numbers into my cellphone.
"Hello?" He sounded like he had a full nose, and had just woken up.
"Hi, this is Larissa. I was just calling to check up on you. Did I wake you up?"
"Well, sort of." Cough "I just opened my eyes when you called. So you just kinda helped me wake up completely-ish."
"Oh, ok. From what I hear, it sounds like you caught a cold... Am I right?"
He coughed and sighed. "Yep, you're right."
"I'm sorry to say this, but I told you this would happen! What do you have to say to me?"
"Ugh, I'm sorry for not trusting you in the first place..."
He's acting the same way he did as a kid! "And..."
"Um... I should have realized that you knew what was best for me... and I'm sorry... Is that good enough?"
"That's good. You know, you never liked to admit that women are always right about everything. Haven't you realized that already?" We both laughed. Then he started coughing real bad. "Ooh, that sounds bad! Did you go to the doctor yet?"
"No, it only started getting worse last night. And I don't like going to the doctor for a simple cold like this."
"Well, did you call your mom? Maybe she'll come over and help you out, at least for cooking."
"I don't want her to feel bad. And she'll probably get mad at me for not taking care of myself the way I should." Cough-cough. There was a long pause. "Would you, if possible, be able to... cook for me?"
I was a bit surprised. We had just met after a long time, and he already wanted me to take care of him? But I know what it feels like to be lonely and sick, and I didn't want to seem mean. "Sure, I can do that. What time will you need me?"
"Thanks! Well, I usually wake up at around 7, so if you could be here by 6:30, that'd be great. My address is 000 xxxxxx apartment number 00. Oh, here, the security system is a bit different. Instead of a key, there's a code. It's 5454."
"Oh, ok. I think I'll remember that. See you tomorrow!"
"Yeah, see you then."

The next morning, I drove over to his apartment at around 6:10. I guess not many people get up at five in the morning to drive to work, so I had almost the whole road to myself. I got there at around 6:20. I took the elevator up to his apartment, and then remembered that there was a code to get into Josh's house. But I couldn't remember what the code was! Was it 5656 or 5454... Wait... I really don't know... I guess I'll have to try out once I get there. I reached his floor and was a bit surprised by what I saw. In my apartment building, there are four apartments per floor. The building itself is not so large, so the apartments aren't very spacious. Now, this building was bigger than mine and it only had two apartments per floor. If you know your math, that means that there will be double the amount of room per apartment, almost triple! I was getting excited already, just by actually reaching the place. Imagine what the apartments look like inside! I can't wait! Thank you, Josh, for asking me to cook for you!
