The hours turned into days and the days turned into weeks as Elena followed her new schedule. There was no word on the Valg or her family, so she had easily fallen into a routine.

She spent every morning in the training ring working with Rhys to control her magic. She focused on wielding fire as fire consumed her and everything in its path when she lost control. Rhys said if she could master fire, any other type of magic would fall in line.

Some mornings she would jump in the ring with Cassian, Bryn, and Azriel. She had grown quite close with them as she had insight on how to build strength and stamina for females. Showing them how to use their smaller size to their advantage as her mother had shown her. An honorary Valkyrie that had deemed her for the time being.

After training, she spent her afternoons in the library with Rhys and Nyx documenting and translating wyrdmarks. They had cataloged an extensive list of marks and their different purposes.

After enjoying dinner with the inner circle, Nyx had shared the location of cozy spot near the Sidra that provided a great view of the mountains and the city sprawling before then. Every night, they starred at the stars as they read and discussed literature or Nyx shared his daemati gifts with her. She had picked up on the abilities fairly quickly and once she had control, Nyx and Elena spent their time sharing memories of their respective worlds.

It was easy in Prythian, this new life she had found. But she couldn't help but think of Terrasen, of home, of her family.

Nyx and Elena were leaned up against a tree before their spot on the Sidra as the sun began to set.

I wonder where they are. Elena sent the thought to Nyx. I know they're out there searching for me, but what if they never find me? What if I never see them again?

They'll find you. Nyx sent back. They're traveling worlds to find you. There's nothing that can keep them from you.

"I've tried the wyrdmarks. Tried to contact them again, but I haven't been able to reach them." Elena said aloud.

"Elena, they'll be here. It's going to take time." Nyx said.

"It's been weeks," Elena rose to her feet and walked closer to the river.

"They're getting here as fast as they can. Everything you've shown me of your mother tells me she wouldn't let anything stand in her way." Nyx said as he followed her.

"Let's do something tonight. Get my mind off all this. Distract me," Elena offered.

"Distraction? I can give you a distraction, Princess." Nyx said with a smirk. Was he flirting with her? She'd picked up on little things he'd dropped in conversation, but she knew it was just who he was. Flirty. She was sure he had no problem gaining the attention of a female. He probably craved it and she was playing right into his hand.

She pushed him in the chest with a smile as they made their way back to the River House.

Nyx knew Elena needed a distraction. Cauldron, Nyx could use a distraction. He spent every moment in her prescence trying to keep himself focused. He found himself drawn into a daze everytime she was near. The scent of her, jasmine and lemon verbena, became his new favorite.

As they'd returned to the River House, he invited Bryn to join them. She graciously accepted and brought Elena to her room to help her pick out an outfit.

"Headed out tonight?" His mother said as she walked down. She held her swollen belly. Nyx nodded.

"How's she doing in there?" Nyx asked.

"Madja says she's growing well." Feyre answered.

"Hopefully she's easier on you than I was," Nyx said with a laugh. He was excited for his parents. He wasn't sure if they'd ever have another child after the trauma they endured 22 years ago during Nyx's birth.
