They agreed to keep the party limited. They wanted to ensure not to raise suspicion. Nyx was quickly brought up to speed on the new location of where the Valg could be hiding out.
He walked down the steps and his heart ached a bit as he look a quick glance at Elena as she was turned around talking with her mother. Her long hair was braided and fell down her back. She had on a pair of black tight pants tucked into her boots that was paired with a green and gold tunic.
Aelin, Rowan, Rhys, Nyx, Feyre, Dorian and Elena winnowed to the Southern part of the wall. His father had only allowed a pregnant Feyre to accompany them to act as an embassador to Tamlin in case they crossed paths. She was the only one he would listen to, the only one who could get through.
Aelin, Dorian, and Elena possessed the magic needed to hold off the Valg in case they had a run in. Rowan, Rhys, and Nyx served as backup. Mor was on stand by with Aedion, Lysandra, Fenrys, Lorcan, Manon, Cassian and Azriel in case anything went wrong.
They had chosen the mortal lands to cover first, hoping only to cross into the Spring Court in case the trail went cold.
Elena walked up to the invisible wall. When she placed a hand on it, translucent vibrations spread miles down the wall in both directions.
She closed her eyes as she focused. "The wall itself feels alive." She said.
Dorian walked up next to her and mirrored her position. "It almost feels like it's communicating with itself. Sending signals from one end to the other." He added.
Elena sent a wave of flame stretching down the wall.
"I can feel a gap trying to patch itself. It's quite few miles down," Elena said. "But it's not on this side of the wall."
"How is that possible? How can it fix itself?" Dorian asked.
Rhys began, "The wall was torn down over 2 decades ago during the war. The object used to destroy it was the Cauldron, the very object used to create Prythian and the fae. After the war, we used the object to put the barrier back up, to protect the mortals. The wall feeds off the magic of land and land is very much alive. It's a feedback system-just as our bodies would heal themselves when we are injured."
"The wall siphons the magic out of the earth- it has an endless source of magic." Elena stated.
Rhys nodded. Nyx knew the wall had been restored, but he hadn't know how strong the magic of the wall had been.
"We need to get to the other side. Find the gap," Aelin said.
"It's a little more complicated than that." Feyre said. "The other side of the wall is Spring Court territory. We don't have the best relations with the Spring Court."
"Runaway bride situation," Rhys threw out. Nyx tried not to roll his eyes at the thought of his mother with Tamlin. Feyre looked back at his father with a glare.
Aelin covered her laugh with a grin. Rowan smirked
"Luckily we brought his only weakness," Rhys said. "He can never say no to Feyre."
Aelin gave her a sly look, "make him grovel before you."
Rhys winnowed them to the other side of the wall and they trekked their way down the western portion of the wall.
Periodically, Elena and Dorian placed their hands upon the wall as if reading information from a book to guide them.
They neared the edge of the territory as the ocean shore was now in view. Nyx went to breathe in the smell of the salty air, but his nose was filled with a terrible reek.
