Vampire Seekers

Chapter Twenty

Velika feels the thumping of the music through the floor and feels the bounding beat in her heart. Or perhaps that is just the nerves.

When all is said and done confessing to the woman she loves is not as easy as it sounds, but as Velika strides forward with confidence the vampire knows her mind is made up.

Whatever happens today it will end with Maria knowing that she is hers.

"Do you have a plan, Princess?" Eli questions.

"Find Will. Apologise. Have a drink. Find you know who." Velika summaries whilst swerving around two entwined bodies that are pushed against a table booth.

"That is not a full formed plan." Eli points out.

"Yeah and sticking to a plan has been working so well for me." Velika responds as her eyes scan over the room. Searching the faces of strangers for two that she might recognise.

Velika eyes spot Willow first. She should have known. Her old friend is sat in the same booth she had been last time.

If Willow is still upset about what happened earlier her face does not show it. The vampire is chatting lively to someone on the seat across from her.

"Bet you I know who that is." Velika comments with a smug smile. "See you in a few hours."

Velika abandons Eli. Leaving him stood there on his own with his fellow warriors already spread out through out the club. He does not mind.

"Glad you came today." A softly spoken female voice calls behind Eli. The vampire turns to see the short asian women with a genuine smile and face largely free of makeup. "Don't tell her highness but we all placing bets on whether we would see her here again."

"Did you win?" Eli asks, watching from the corner of his eye as the Princess reaches Willows table with a sheepish expression on her face.

"I did." Ruka replies with a big smile on her face. "Though I'm not sure it was a fair bet. Her royal highness asked me to ensure she knew the outcome of Alice's trial."

"I see." Eli grins. "Velika is not near as discrete as she thinks herself to be."

"Can I get you a drink? I think your princess might be some time." Ruka questions, and how could Eli possibly refuse. While Eli sits and chats to Ruka who kindly ensures his glass is never empty long Velika is busy apologising. 

"That didn't take as long as I thought." Willow says after Velika apologises and admits she had been out of order. Her friend blames it on the stress of the draft and her mother taking up residence in her home - the latter being the main culprit. 

"Yeah, Will told me to get you a bloody mina in another half hour." Maria chuckles, "Guess us humans aren't the only predictable ones around here." Maria playfully comments whilst sliding out of the seat to get Velika her drink, but the Princess has other ideas.

Velika captures Maria's wrist in her hand and pulls her back to her. Maria turns as she is pulled backward and her body collides with Velika's. The Princess smiles as their lips meet. Velika is dimly aware of Willow clapping and exclaiming 'hallelujah'.

Maria's mouth is small and soft against Velika's. Her own is warm and tender. The kiss sweet and gentle. Velika lips move slowly against Maria's and after a moments hesitation Maria returns the kiss. The human is not half as slow or gentle.

Maria backs Velika into the table and slips her tongue into Velika's mouth with a smirk. 

Velika is stunned by Maria's boldness. The sensation of Maria's tongues moving against her own is strange, but not unpleasant. Velikaz tongue wrestles for dominance over Maria's, at least until something pulls on her arm.
