Chapter Five: The Citadel

Amu (amu - mom), buir (buir - dad), and I have been recalled from the field for a covert operation, non disclosable over comms. We've left ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Kya in charge of the 345th. And since comms aren't allowed on this mission, I have left him in charge of Lukka Rai'yan (Lukka Rai'yan - Free Spirit).

Which is progressing well. The entirety of the 345th is dechipped, and the shinies that come are dechipped as well. Most of them, anyway. There are some that aren't, but they get theirs out as soon as they're on board. And amu (amu - mom) still has no idea.

The other legions or battalions that have been completely dechipped are the 501st, the Galactic Marines, the 327th, the 212th, and the 104th. According to Ahsoka, Callum, Luke, Chase, ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Rex, ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Bly, ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Cody, ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Wolffe, and Jet, uncle Anakin, Master Mundi, ba'vodu (ba'vodu - aunt) Aayla, ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Obi-Wan, and Master Plo have no idea of the massive amount of brain surgery that's been going on either.

Amu (amu - mom), buir (buir - dad), and I walk into the briefing room at the Jedi Temple, and see Master Plo, uncle Anakin, and ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Obi-Wan. Along with ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Rex's holo, and ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Cody. Chase isn't here though, if I remember right, he had Padawan course work to catch up on. We join them around the holotable, and Master Plo says,

"Ileema, Master Piell has been taken alive by the Separatists. They seek the knowledge he holds of the Nexus Route. And they have taken him to the Citadel." He puts up a holoprojection of a building. "As you are aware, the Citadel is their most isolated and impenetrable detention facility. No one has ever escaped."

"There's a first time for everything," uncle Anakin and I say together.

"Indeed there is," ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Obi-Wan says.

"Their security has prevented our probes from obtaining recent reconnaissance, so we've been forced to construct a crude map based upon data from the archives," Master Plo says, showing a maze of tunnels on the holotable now.

"And since the data is extremely old, the map will be difficult to rely on," ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Obi-Wan says.

"So we're essentially going in blind," uncle Anakin says.

"Beg your pardon, General," ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Rex says, "but how do we know Master Piell is still alive?"

"The Separatists won't dare kill Master Piell until they have what they need," amu (amu - mom) says.

"Master Piell obtained the coordinates of a secret hyperspace lane known as the Nexus Route which travels into the heart of both the Republic and Separatist homeworlds," Master Plo says.

"They could prove vital in maneuvering our forces deep into remote Separatist sectors."

"Or the enemy could use them to slip through our defenses and attack Coruscant," uncle Anakin finishes for ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Obi-Wan.

"These hyperspace lanes are of immense interest to both our sides, and could tip the scale of the war to whomever is in possession of them. That is all," Master Plo says.

I follow behind amu (amu - mom), uncle Anakin, ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Obi-Wan, and Master Plo. Now that we know the mission, I'm a little worried amu (amu - mom) won't let me go. This is a dangerous mission. I sort of tail them and listen to their conversation.
