Amu (amu - mom) and Master Mundi have decided together to send Callum and I on a training mission together to test our survival skills, should we ever get separated from our men during battle. And all Senior Padawans have to do a survival campout. But basically, we get to go camping as a Padawan assignment.
Not that I'm complaining, we get to get away from the war for a bit. And I get to go with Callum, so I'm not complaining about anything. I'm not complaining about anything at all.
I have no idea what planet we're going to, except that amu (amu - mom) told me that it wasn't a planet with extreme temperatures. I hope it doesn't have sand, I hate sand. It's itchy and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere!
We're both allowed to bring one birgaan (birgaan - backpack) with supplies. And as long as we can fit the supplies in a birgaan (birgaan - backpack) we can bring them. Aside from our lightsabers. Those we have to bring, and are the only things required.
When I was younger, buir (buir - dad) and my ba'vodu'e (ba'vodu'e - uncles) told me stories of survival camping simulators that they would have to do. They had tents that could fit into a birgaan (birgaan - backpack), while leaving room for other stuff. When buir (buir - dad) started teaching me wilderness, and battlefield, survival methods he gave me one of those, and a sleeping bag. They don't look like you could even fit in them when they're folded up, but they're pretty nice. He also taught me how to make a shelter, which is rather time consuming.
I also grabbed enough rations for 48 hours. And I can ration those should I need to. I pack a change of clothes, a water filter, and a pack of matches, then get dressed in civvies. A t-shirt, and leggings. I keep my boots, my lightsaber, and my utility belt though. Which I make sure is stocked with first aid supplies, and my shots are filled.
I grab a hair clip and pull my hair up, excluding my Padawan braid. Then I sling my birgaan (birgaan - backpack) over my shoulder and head to the hangar. Amu (amu - mom) and I are taking an LAAT to Master Mundi's ship, then we're picking up Master Mundi and Callum, then flying down to the planet below us. Amu won't tell me which planet it is.
I run into the hangar and up to amu (amu - mom) and buir (buir - dad). He gives me a side hug, and says,
"Have fun on your trip, Leeda. And don't get eaten."
I roll my eyes. "It's amu (amu - mom) and ba'vodu (ba'vodu - uncle) Obi-Wan that have the problem with creatures. Not me, remember?"
Buir (buir - dad) chuckles. "True. Well, have fun. Don't do anything di'kutla (di'kutla - stupid)."
"I won't. I promise. Love you, buir (buir - dad)."
"I love you too, ad (ad - kid)."
I give him a hug, and then amu (amu - mom) and I board the LAAT. When the hangar opens, Flip flies us up and out. It's a short ride to Master Mundi's flagship, where Master Mundi and Callum are waiting for us. They both walk in.
"Master Kenobi, Padawan Skywalker."
"Master Mundi," amu (amu - mom) says.
"Hey, Callum!"
"Hi, Leeda. Have you gotten stabbed anytime recently?"
"Ugh. Would you stop bringing that up? I've been stabbed twice. Twice, in sixteen years. That's not very many times if you think about how many battlefields I've been on. With all the shrapnel and such."
