It had been 5 years since the assassination of the royal family. The kingdom of EverMoon did not have any ruler to rule the villagers nor the common people. What was left in the castle was the great wizard who vowed to protect the kingdom and find the lost princess who was believed to be still alive somewhere in the depths of this kingdom. A barrier had been placed around the kingdom as well as places that the villagers went on a daily basis so that they could continue their daily routine without any obstructions.

New schools were built right in the middle of the evergreen forest, where animals roam freely without any care. No one, not even hunters were allowed to kill these creatures.

"Thia! Christine! Breakfast is ready!" Miranda called out from the already renovated kitchen. Recently, Alexander got enough money to redo their kitchen, which was really a dream come true for Miranda. Miranda had always wanted marble table tops in her kitchen as well as white cabinets. These materials were very hard to find and cost Alexander a great deal.

Miranda made waffles and pancakes as it was the two girls' most favorite meal for the day. Ever since they got the certificate to adopt Thia, the whole family was much more lively than before. Christine had come out of her comfort zone ever since Thia was in the family.

"O.M.G. Mother can you tell Thia that people wouldn't make fun of her red eyes! I mean it's so cool it reminds me of the blood moon that always appears during the princess's birthday!" Christine exclaimed as she dragged Thia by her right hand down the stairs towards the kitchen. Both girls bonded really well, which was a surprise to the two adults at first.

"Thia darling, you are beautiful and nobody is going to care about how red your eyes are. And girls, how many times must I tell you to brush your hair in the morning? Both of you look like you went through a jungle before coming to the kitchen!" Miranda looked over to her daughters as she took a spare hair brush that was in one of the kitchen drawers, it was labeled emergency.

While eating their breakfast, Miranda helped the girls to brush out their long messy hair.

In recent months, due to the school being deep within the forest, security guard posts had been set up every 9 meters so that students would not wander elsewhere or get kidnapped. Before these were set up countless children were either found or not found by the security guards. This caused an uproar, which eventually some villagers appointed themselves as guards so that they could protect these students from any harm.

Although the barrier did protect the villagers, the assassins who were said to be still alive till this day had never left the perimeters of the kingdom.

"Off you two go and remember to follow the white oak path, do not venture beyond the woods." Miranda warned the two girls as she ushered them out of the house, closing the door behind them. This was their second time going to school by themselves, the first few times both girls were scared to venture into the woods itself as it was quite scary looking from the outside as compared to the inside.

"You know it's not normal when you attract the woodland creatures right? So if you are able to ask them to go back where they came from it would be nice. Don't want to scare any other kids today do we?" Christine chuckled as she pointed to all the little creatures that were slowly coming towards them.

It was such a pure sight whenever Christine was out in the woods with Thia it was as if the forest had understood her half sister better than anyone did. Whenever they walked through the forest, butterflies and birds seemed rather lively as compared to the other children who walked through. It was as though the forest was speaking to Thia in a way to protect her.

Thia calmed down her thoughts before trying to shoo the animals away, it was as if a chain of information had been sent out, the animals slowly dispersed back where they came from.
