Ginti's POV
I let my eyes fall on the girl as she fell silent. One of her memories returning. She closed her eyes for a moment, looking up at the lights with a soft smile on her face.
"You just couldn't wait for the food, could ya?" Aoi smiled, looking down sheepishly. Her smile faltered, still seeming to be lost in the memory.
"It was a shame when we got home though." She mumbled. Aoi looked at her with a smile, but this one was different compared to his other smiles. It was a sad smile. He looked guilty.
"I never did get a chance to thank you. Ya know, when we got home. You took the b-" He started. She forces a smile back on her face, quick to distract her brother.
"Hey now, that's behind us, remember? We put that all behind when I finally got us out." She said redirects. The smile, not leaving her face as she tries. This too was a different smile, sad...
It's not like I don't know what they're talking about, given the circumstances. See, whenever a person dies, and if they are assigned to me then I am given their memories of their death. It's not hard to guess, even if I'm not supposed to delve too deep into the humans lives. The girl Kimi, she does something to me though. The way she looks at me, the way she talks to me, or talks in general. It makes my chest hurt. I don't know why, or how. It... makes me feel strange. The look she gave me when she heard me chuckle not once but twice, and I just pretended she was crazy. What is wrong with me? I hate humans, despise them! They're good for nothing trash. They're all idiots one way or another. Besides, rule number three, Arbiter cannot feel emotions. For doing so is not in our nature... It is impossible for us to have feelings.
Kimi's POV
Right hand red. Left foot blue. Left hand yellow. Right foot green. I groaned loudly, almost falling over due to Aoi's foot being pressed to the back on my right knee.
"I am so sick of this game. Hey, Ginti? Can we take a break, please? A minute longer and I think my leg will give out." I cried out to him. I craned my neck back to see him, not looking at him upside down as he threw the magazine he was holding behind him. He sighed, closing his eyes.
"No. And there's one more thing I forgot to tell you before the game started. There'll be consequences for the loser of the game... Fatal consequences." He stated. His eyes opened, locking onto mine immediately. His eyes.. look so lifeless and dull. It makes me wonder just what this guy's been through. I narrowed my brows at him, but didn't question. He's lying, he's gotta be. Fatal consequences?
"Is that supposed to be funny? Some kinda joke?" Aoi questioned less than impressed. I gave him a look as if to not push the situation before I looked back at Ginti. He jumped off of the small table and pulled something out from his pocket, it looked like some sort of weird looking remote.
