My heart could only take so much.

It was a cold day. The way I liked it. I know my girlfriend didn't like the weather. So, she wasn't going to show. But my bestie showed. She was always there for me. No matter what. And we stuck together always.
But, I was walking down the street. Chatting about some fandom with my bestie. When she suddenly turns me around. In confusion I continue walking. After a few moments I whip around. Curiosity taking over.
There she was. My girlfriend and another girl. Making out as if no one was watching. My heart shattered in pieces. This wasn't the first time I was broken. However, the circumstances were different. He was a douche that framed my brother. And almost got him in deep shit.
I reached for my gun. I bring it everywhere, the cops don't know. And this gun was actually my grandfather's gun. He was a sheriff. But, he died of a heart attack. Sadly, I was only 8. And I loved him, he was an old fashioned man. Woodworker with a motorcycle. He was Mexican too.
And before I knew it. I had shot them both, they both dropped. My friend screamed, but my dull eyes didn't care. For some reason, I was never guilty for killing... anything really. So this didn't really affect me, for I didn't care. I don't have... what do they call it... empathy was it? Yeah, empathy.
However, I am empty.
I don't care.
