Not Glass, but Diamond

The Decision

Third Person POV:

A day later, they returned to Konoha with the prisoners. This included the Bingo Book criminals and the bidders. But, there were barely two or three missing-nin of each village; a grand total of 17 ninjas, excluding the poison senbon user.

"Why are there only so few?! Did the rest escape?!" Tsunade bellowed.

"That would be their fault," Shikamaru said, pointing at team 7.

"What?" Tsunade asks.

All members of Team 7 look away and scratch their heads nervously.

"Naruto got poisoned, and they snapped. We couldn't even salvage many dead bodies in one piece." Kiba said, smirking.

Sasuke and Sakura glared at him. Tsunade looked shocked for a few moments and then started laughing. She then suddenly turned to her godson.

"Are you okay, dear?"

"Yeah. I'm perfectly alright. Sakura patched me up soon right after," he replied cheerfully.

"Thank god!" she says and continues to laugh along with Naruto and Kiba.

"Tsunade sama. You don't know how bad it was. They even used their summonings in that cramped space and utterly destroyed the casino. It was very difficult work for me to salvage the dead bodies after that." Tenten whines and complains.

"Thank you for your hard work, everyone. All's well that ends well. You can all go ahead and take a week off work. Don't worry, it'll be paid leave. Everyone except Team 7 can leave." Tsunade announced.

They all cheer and leave. And she continues.

"On that note, Team 7 is officially dispersed. Sakura will join the hospital as a medical team Jonin, Kakashi will start working with me as deputy Homage and will be promoted eventually and Naruto will become a Jonin sensei and will also start Hokage studies if he wishes to."

"What about me Tsunade sama?" Sasuke asked.

"How do you feel about a position in the intelligence and torture division with Ibiki?"

"I......I think my skills will be a perfect fit for the position, but mentally, I don't think I'm suited for it Tsunade sama," he answered honestly. 

"Alright, what about the Anbu under the Hokage?"

"It would be an honour Tsunade sama." he bows.

"It's decided then. You're dispersed."

They leave the office in a sombre mood. It was a twilight hour and the sky had mixed colours, just like how the minds of the members of Team 7 were muddled with mixed emotions now. They were overjoyed with their new positions yet heartbroken about being separated.

"So......this is it, huh?" Kakashi asks awkwardly.

"I suppose so," Sasuke answers just as awkwardly.

"You guys are so awkward." Sakura teased.

Naruto chuckled a bit at that.

"But they are right. This seems like the end of the road for Team 7. And we are so overpowered that we may never be sent on a mission together ever again." Naruto said.

They all realise that sadly.

"But that's fine. We'll always be comrades and we'll keep in touch always. We live in the same village after all. We just won't be working together." Kakashi sensei said.

"That's right. Everyone's been doing that for years. We're lucky to have stayed together this long. I have to stay Tsunade sama was quite partial when it came to us." Sasuke added.
