I was surprised to wake up late, after the boys had left for what I thought would be an interview the following morning. With the bus completely empty, I decided to take advantage of the rare event. I walked past the other bunks, which all already had their curtains opened and were left messy. As much as I refused to play housewife, I decided to clean up a bit.

With them gone, I could finally take my time in the bathroom. I placed a pile of towels and toiletries on top of the sixth, unused bed, which was mostly used to store bags or clothes and shut the curtains to pretend it wasn't there. I head towards the kitchen, with the towels ready for me to grab after drinking some coffee. I noticed that Bill had left me some, how sweet.

While sipping my cup of coffee -which wasn't completely hot but was still fine- I gazed through the windows of the bus. We were parked next to yet another lake, surrounded by weeping willows. They were fully in bloom and filled with pink blossoms. Maybe I'd take a swim later.

I put my cup down and made my way back to the bathroom, sliding the 'all-in-one' bottle to the side of the shower next to the shaving gel. I toss my pajamas on the floor, realizing I might have taken over some of the boys' messy habits too.

When the shower knob turns, I tilt my head up to let the water hit my face. It's the type of heat that makes you think you'd almost burn yourself, but after a few seconds, I find it strangely comforting. I shut my mouth and lets the water run over my entire head, feeling myself relax into the warmth and safety of the water.

Being able to take a long shower makes me get twice the amount of body wash in my hands than I usually do, creating a thick layer of bubbles over my body before rinsing with the showerhead.

Washing my hair extensively and even using the curl-defining conditioner, which would usually dust away in the corner. After turning the shower ice-cold for half a minute, I turn off the water. Droplets are dripping down my body, and I rub my fingers over my eyes.

I blindly reach my hand outside the shower enclosure, trying to grab my large towel from the brackets. When my hand grabs nothing but air, I open my eyes to realize I had forgotten them on the leftover bed.

I sigh loudly, about to step out of the shower butt-naked, when I hear a sound outside the bathroom. Someone arrived back already, shit. I drop my head against the glass and run a hand through my wet hair.

"Hey, guys?" I yell from the bathroom, feeling slightly embarrassed. Someone knocks on the door in response. "I um, I forgot my towels. They're on the bed."

I hear a chuckle outside, and I realize it's, of course, Tom. "Could you not be an asshole for once and bring them to me." I exhaled slowly, still leaning against the glass door. Out of everyone who could have been there to help me, he's the one who answers?

The door opens and I quickly try to cover my body with my arms. "Tom!" I exclaim, but I only see his arm in the door frame, holding the towels I needed. "These?" "Yeah, those." I sighed tiredly.

"Close your eyes." I say sternly when Tom takes a step closer.

"Yeah, yeah."

"I'm serious, close them!"

Tom walks in with his hand covering his eyes, "Alright, they're closed, they're closed! He strolled closer to me, step by step, until he was close enough for me to grab it from his hands.

"Now go." I order him, but he huffs. "Not even a thank you?"

Suddenly, I hear other voices inside the bus, and I catch the sound of Bill walking towards the bathroom. "Tom, leave the bathroom!" He shouts, and his brother mutters 'fine' before walking out and trying to glance back into the space. But Bill already closes the door behind him, and I roll my eyes while wrapping the towel around my body.
