Rosetta loved going out for absolutely no reason at all.

Although she was very fond of her nonno's soft serenades that would echo through the house every morning and the adorable little dances her nonna would make up while kneading a ball of pasta dough for the family to feast on later in the day, sitting around inside her family house just felt far too confining for her.

Rosetta craved human interaction.

She just had to go out.

She had to talk to new people and make friends.

Having decided to spend the early summer days at home in Rome—as per her nonna's request—Rosetta made it her mission to visit the renowned landmarks around the city while she was there, and maybe start a few friendships, put her photography skills into good use and earn some pocket change. She thought it ironic, that in her twenty years of living, she never actually toured the very place she was born in.

She always felt like a bit of an outsider growing up. Born to parents who were both avid travellers, she spent her childhood constantly on the move, from one distant land to another, in search of novelty and adventure.

Rosetta seemed to have fallen heir to their love for the thrill of exploring new countries and cultures.

Perhaps it was also the fact that she was from Rome that gave it that odd sense of familiarity, that the urge to explore never really ignited within Rosetta. She had watched videos and read history books, listened to podcasts. She'd known about all the things that there was to explore from the stories her parents told her when she was younger. It was like playing in her own backyard.

But even in her backyard, there must've always been something interesting to find.

The twenty-year-old kept that in the back of her mind as she kissed her grandparents goodbye. With her camera bag slung over her shoulder and Sapphire—the trusty blue Vespa she inherited from her nonno—at the ready, Rosetta set out early one morning, eager to take advantage of the soft light of dawn.

As she wound her way through the crowded streets of Rome, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building within her. Her heart beat faster and her spirit soared higher, driven by an insatiable hunger for the unknown and the thrilling. The mere thought of embarking on a new journey filled her with an exhilarating rush of adrenaline and purpose.

For her, life was a constant quest for excitement, a never-ending odyssey of discovery and wonder.

The warm, yet pristine Italian summer morning breeze blew softly through the soft locks of Rosetta's caramel brown hair as she arrived at the Piazza di San Pietro. The air was refreshing, coursing inside her as she stepped onto the cobblestones, with curious eyes scanning the scenery before her.
