The second that Hopper got off the plane he was hit with hot air. He had almost forgotten what it was like to be warm. Spending 8 months in a cold Russian prison made him almost used to the cold air and snow.
Joyce saw how he was reacting and gave him a sad smile. She couldn't even imagine what he went through in that prison. She then took his hand and squeezed it gently. "Are you ready to see your daughter?" She asked
"You think she'll recognize me?" Hopper asked, running a hand over his bald head.
"You're her dad, Hopper." Joyce said as she squeezed his hand harder. "Now let's go see her."

Joyce and Hopper sat next to each other in the back of the taxi. Murray sat in the front next to the driver.
"El will be so excited to see you!" Joyce whispered to Hopper. "She misses you so much. You should've seen how sad was when you were gone. It almost broke my heart."
"Joyce?" Hopper asked.
"Yes?" She replied.
"After I... died, who took care of El?" He asked, not sure what Joyce would say. She just smiled.
"I took her. She and Will became very close, and we moved to California." She explained to him.
"C-California?" He asked, not sure if he was hearing her correctly. Joyce just nodded her head.
"After you died, I couldn't take it anymore. I was depressed. El was extremely sad. I decided it would be best to move away." She explained. Hopper realized that Joyce had started to cry. Without thinking, he put his arm around her shoulders and held her close. She rested her head on his chest, inhaling his scent.
"Ok, we get it. You're both sad. Now can you stop with this mushy stuff, because we're arriving in 5 minutes." Murray yelled.
Joyce and Hopper blushed as they pulled away from each other. "Sorry." Joyce said quietly.

When they arrived at Hopper's cabin, they saw that it had been destroyed. But to their surprise, Jonathan, Nancy, Mike, Will, and El were all there, fixing the cabin.
As soon as Hopper saw El, he realized that he wasn't the only bald one there. All of El's hair was gone. Mike noticed who was there before El did, and tapped her on the shoulder, "I think you'll want to see this," He said.
The second El turned around, she saw someone who she thought was dead. Someone who she missed more than words can tell. She saw her dad. She ran over to him and gave him a big hug. "I missed you so much!" She said while crying softly.
"I missed you too, kid." Hopper said to her. He squeezed her, not wanting anything bad to happen to his daughter. He already lost one, he wasn't going to lose another one.
