Silverwing's POV

5 years after last chapter

Silverwing sat in her room, working diligently on a new ice sculpture to decorate her mostly empty room. She carefully carved and cut the ice with her talons and her knife to make the shape, adding more and more details to make it lifelike and perfect. She stepped back, looking proudly at the realistic sculpture of a seal. Realizing a few details still needed to be added, Silverwing was about to continue carving when she heard tapping at the door. She turned towards the doorway to see two of her siblings, Blizzard and Alabaster. She let out an internal sigh before greeting them. "Hey." Silverwing said nervously. Unlike her other siblings, Aurora and Boreal, Blizzard and Alabaster never really appeared to like her that much. They always avoided her, and would usually sound passive-aggressive when speaking to her.

"Hello, little sister." Blizzard said ominously as she took a step closer to Silverwing. "What might you be up to?" Blizzard sneered as Alabaster grinned maliciously. "Uh...just making an ice sculpture again." Silverwing said, gesturing to the sculpture she made. "It's not done yet though, I just need to fix and add a few details." Silverwing smiled, trying to erase the awkward, scary atmosphere. "Oh, not finished yet, huh?" Blizzard smirked, walking closer to the statue and looking at it carefully. "I think I might be able to help with that..." Suddenly, Blizzard lifted her talons and sliced them right through the sculpture.

Shards of ice flew everywhere as the sculpture split and fell to the ground. "NO!" Silverwing yelled as her creation crumpled. Blizzard and Alabaster both let out malevolent cackles as Silverwing dashed over to the fallen sculpture. "Why would you do that!?" Silverwing cried as she held the broken ice shards in her talons. "We're just giving you a taste of your own medicine." Alabaster hissed, making Silverwing flinch. What are they talking about? I never did anything to them!

Blizzard and Alabaster continued to snicker, but their twisted joy was immediately silenced when they heard talons tapping behind them. All three of the dragonets whipped around to see their mother, Queen Snowstorm, standing at the door furiously. "What on Pyrrhia happened here!? Who destroyed my poor Silverwing's magnificent sculpture!" Snowstorm snarled, looking around the room. "I- it was-" Silverwing tried to explain the situation, but was quickly interrupted by Blizzard. "I'm so sorry, Mother....We were playing around, and one of us accidentally toppled over the sculpture..." Blizzard said, looking at the ground with pity. Silverwing opened her mouth and was about to scream what actually happened, but she felt Alabaster's furious glare on her scales, and immediately kept her mouth shut.

"Oh, okay." Mom sighed, looking at her dragonets. "Just don't play around near Silverwing's sculptures again, okay? You don't want to break them again." And with that, Snowstorm exited the room, closing the door behind her. As soon as the door shut Alabaster and Blizzard broke into wild hyena-like cacophony again. "HAH! SHE REALLY FELL FOR IT!" Blizzard sneered, falling to the ground. Silverwing frowned and looked down at the floor, ashamed. Once they stopped giggling and laughing, Blizzard got up and stared at Silverwing menacingly. "And don't even think about telling Mom. Or else you'll end up just like that sculpture." Blizzard growled before she and Alabaster walked out of the room, snickering madly again.

Silverwing sighed and looked at the broken sculpture before her, sighing as she began to clean up the mess of broken ice shards and chunks. Once she had scooped them and thrown them all out, she plopped onto her bed, curling up into a ball. What do those two want from me...What did I do to them? Silverwing thought to herself as she began to drift off to sleep.
