"What do you mean? I did it literally the same way!" I glared at her while Miss H rolled her eyes, her hands wrapping around mine.
"You aren't heating it enough Lilith," She sighed annoyed, the healing balm boiling in our grasp while my hands heated with mana not my own.
"Maybe the teacher's shit," I scoffed while her brow twitched, my hands hot as I pulled them back with a hiss.
"You blackmailed me, stop complaining, I've never taught anyone about the healing arts," She shot while I just shook my wists half-hearted, my palms scorched by the beaker.
"It's practically potions, settle down," I rolled my eyes looking at my red palms, no blisters forming. I was basically fine then.
"Yes, well, when I'm burned at the stake because you can not keep your mouth shut, I want you to say those same words," She deadpanned, dropping a cold wet rag in my hands while I glanced at it to her. Her words had grown harsher after a fun little agreement but her actions had softened. I was more of a person but not one she liked.
Softly smiling I hummed tossing the rag aside, "I'll be sure to scream it at the top of my lungs."
"I'd much rather you rescued me," She gave me a pointed look while my smile grew, a glob of her miracle balm finding my hands.
"I'll think about it," I grinned, crossing my legs and gently rubbing it into my raw feet. I hadn't really bothered with my boots even if they weren't being stolen or destroyed anymore as if to remind those childish enough to do it in the first place that I was the same person whether or not they had thought me worth something before. "... How do you heal something like a tear or puncture?" I asked, a red beast in mind.
"It depends on how big, show me what you've gotten yourself into," She waved, expecting the wound on me, as I had been harassing her every day since being permanently banned from the medical wing. Edward hadn't really liked my mouthing off too much. It was a fun surprise. Well, maybe not as fun as my surprise.
"It's on that dragon I chased away," I whistled, throwing my linked fingers behind my head, an itch in my elbow but the motion far more comfortable than it had been before.
"Dr-" She choked on her own spit, coughing, and hacking as I waited patiently for her to compose herself. "Dragon?!" She tried again, staring at me like I was insane while clutching her chest. Staring down at her as she bent halfway over the table we were working on I hummed before turning on my sore heels.
"Yep, I shot its wing, and that particular dragon happens to be a wyvern so, basically, I crippled it so severely it will die a slow painful death," I explained walking out of the closet I used to study with what had been my rogue teacher, who, fortunately or otherwise, had been fired a few days ago. The stumbling steps that rushed after me left a smug grin on my face.
"That thing is still in the forest?!" The eyes that found us forced her to lower her voice as she offered an apologetic bow to the ever-so-prying gazes. "I thought you would have killed it quietly, blazen, we all did," she whisper yelled leaving me to raise a brow at that. Do they really think me that homicidal? I can count the lives I've taken on one hand, animal or otherwise.
"Yeah, well, consider the first one a weird incident because I quite like dragons," I chose instead, deciding that arguing about the monster they still thought I was was not something I could take right now. Not mentally. It was quite exhausting being reminded of it.
"That is- Lilith that is a danger you should not humor," She grabbed my shoulder, forcing me to turn around and finally look at her. Her eyes looking between my own as I just raised my brows once again, showing her panicking self just how much I cared. "Lilith you just got the noose from your neck, do not tighten it again," Her voice was soft, begging, pleading.
"You know," I took her wrist, removing it and dropping it into the air, leaving it to limply fall to her side, "A loose noose is still a noose," I smiled patting her arm with more force than necessary. "What I do before the floor falls is entirely up to me, if it results in an early death, well, then maybe that's just how it was supposed to be,"
"... I knew you were crazy, doing as you please, but I didn't think you were doing it knowing it would lead you to your death," Her voice was deadly as we held equally cold gazes. A laugh fell from my lips as my hands once more found the back of my head and I continued my way to the forest.
"Of course, I know!" I chirped, "Why else would I still be here?"
