POV: Harry
I walked into the pet store on diagon alley. Just after I entered a small giggling girl ran into me.
"Sorry." She said and then she looked up at me and paled her eyes filling with tears before she ran out again. 'That was odd' I thought to myself. I came because I wanted to get a new owl preferably one from aged wigs blood line I knew no owl could ever replace her but I needed an owl if I was to be a professor at Hogwarts. I looked out the window after speaking to the owner and saw Maylfoy of all people hugging the young girl who was sobbing into his shoulder after I got my owl I saw that they were headed in my direction and Malfoy was carrying the girl in his arms. I decided ti see what he was doing here and walked up to him. He saw me approaching and quickly set the girl down and she hid behind him. He subconsciously put a protective hand in front of her and Harry thought that that was pretty cute. "Hello Malfoy long time no see what are you doing here. Is that your daughter, I never thought you to be the type to forget protection." I laughed. He glared at me and whispered something to his probably daughter and she ran away faster than I flew. "She is my adopted cousin and I'm here to get her an owl, it's her first year in Hogwarts and I also need to get more ingredients for potions, those Gryffindors keep blowing the ingredient cabinet up. What are you doing here Potter?" He replied icily, "You work at Hogwarts?!" I yelled "Yes I have been working there since we finished our eighth year."
"Great I'm going to have to deal with you being my coworker for the rest of the year. What happened to the last DADA professor?" I asked sarcastically. "A Gryffindor accidentally hit her with an unforgivable curse when his PTSD set in and due to her old age she died from the length of the cruciartis curse." I bit my lip and hadn't expected him to actually tell me."Draco I found the perfect owl for me!" I heard his cousin squeal from across the store he sweetly called "Be there in a minute Leo!"
"You better not hurt my cousin or treat her unfairly even slightly because she's related to me. Got it." I nodded.
Sorry Hedwig autocorrected to aged wigs but it sound hilarious so I'm gonna leave it there.
