"Your Majesty you have a visitor, a seer saying she has something important to tell you."
The newly widowed queen snapped up from the paper work she had been focused on. "Bring her in," she replied sharply.
The queen was not sad or in mourning for her dead husband because she was the one who killed him. She reveled in the sweet memory of her husband face as she brought the knife down to his heart. Now she had complete power she could rule the kingdom the way it should be run, with her name being feared throughout the land.
A raspy voice brought her out of her thoughts. "The kingdom will not stand for this treatment." The queen looked up to see an old frail woman. She was skin and bones, her stringy thin gray hair fell in front of her face, as if guarding her wrinkled skin and unseeing blind eyes. Her ragged clothing hung of her body giving her the look of a scarecrow. The queen marveled at how the old woman thought that she could defy her.
"Oh, and who is to stop me, I have an army. What do you have that could possibly stand against me?" the queen scoffed down and the lady.
"We have the witch light," the woman wheezed out. Her body shaking violently as she coughed.
"Yes, I've heard the story...
Witchlight glows bright in the harvest moon,
Aitken fallen deep in a thick gloom,
Yound witch pure of heart and brave of soul,
Claims the witchlight's powers as her own,
Powerful darkness will finally fall,
Witchlight's maiden protector of all. But no one has seen the witchlight in 300 years you'll have a better chance with your pitchforks." The queen new all the legends and was confident that they were just that, legends. "Now is that all you came to tell me?"
"The witchlight maiden will come and you will fall." With that the hold woman left the room.
