Over the coarse of the next few days the powers kept growing, showing up when I least expected it to. When I went to clean the sleep room, beds made themselves. As I'm washed the dishes, I would dunk them in the water to start cleaning them, but when I pulled them out the were cleaner than new china. I tried my best to keep my powers hidden from my father, fearing he would turn me into the Queen himself if he found out I had the witchlight. As much as the power scared me, I was fascinated about what I could do.
When I went to the Emberwood each night the fey would greet as they normally do, but when they went off into the forest with me chasing behind them, they would always lead me to the same spot. The clearing in the middle of the woods. And every night when I returned there my stomach would start to itch, and it would spread out to my finger tips, power would emit from every single one of my pores. For the first time in all fifteen years of my life, I felt free. When I was in the Emberwood, with my legs running and my lungs burning I wasn't the small, shy girl, I wasn't a nobody. I was powerful. I could let the witchlight glow and I could do magic that I would never have dreamed of. I could be me.
The sound of horses snapped out of my daydreams. The sudden start caused me to jab my needle into my finger. I looked down and saw a small bead of blood form on the tip of my finger. Setting the tunic I was mending aside, I dapped up the blood with my apron.
A banging sounded on the door. I quickly stood up and stumbled to open it. I flung the door open only to find royal soldiers. Internally panicking, thinking they had come for me, I back away from the door. The soldiers marched in and quickly swarmed my home. Two of the soldiers went over to the door that lead to my father's shop.
"Open up in the name of Queen Ryia," the lead solider shouted. The soldiers had torn apart the house, over turning tables, smashing pottery, dumping out the contents of chests. My father opened up the door slowly and immediately the soldiers seized him, tying his hands behind his back like he was some sort of criminal.
"What is the meaning of this?" my father demanded. The soldiers shoved his head in a bag.
"Marcus you are under arrest, by order of the Queen for conspiring against her." (Marcus is her father's name) And with that they were gone taking my father with them, leaving destruction in their wake. They had come in search of my father and now, no doubt they were going to the Queen.

I lay awake that night thinking about what happened that afternoon. I had not gone to Emberwood that night for fear of being caught by the guards which had been doubled that evening. It had all happened so fast, one moment father was in the workshop and everyone was going about their normal business, the next moment he was headed off to the capitol for a trial; unfair no doubt.
Rowan slept restlessly tonight tossing and turning, caught in a fitful dream. When I had told Rowan what had happened after she came home form the market, she froze as if in some sort of shock. Daniel had burst into tears when I told him that evening. He kept crying until he cried himself to sleep in my arms. I peered down at my little brothers face, he was so innocent, the world had not left it's mark on him yet. I still felt like I could have done something to stop my father from being taken. I mean I had this witchlight power, what was the point of having it when I couldn't us it to help people? I realized with a start that I could do something.
Gently laying my brother on his cot, I packed a sack of food, money and a change of clothing. Then as quietly as I could I slipped out into the cool night. I knew that Rowan would take care of Daniel, they had enough food and money to last them two weeks, hopefully I would be back by then. With that settled in my mind I set of to find my father, before the Queen killed him.

Hey guys,
Sorry this is a short chapter, it was more of a set up for the rest of the story. Note the ending it has a little bit of my version of foreshadowing. As usual music for the chapter is at the top and I am always open to feed back and new ideas to improve the story. Oh and I'm looking for some new characters I just need the following info on your character ideas...
