A silent tear was running down [Y/N]'s face when she woke up in the middle of the night. It had been a long day and although her eyes still felt swollen, the lump in her throat from the previous days seemed to have disappeared. Perhaps finally saying goodbye to her brother had taken some of the pain away.

The young woman looked at the clock and sighed in resignation. She had not managed to sleep for more than three hours.

As she closed her eyes again, the images of the burial replayed in her head, filling her with a strange sense of peace. After venting in Mikoto's arms, it had been she herself who had cremated Ryu's body. Although she had heard some blues complain about her act, saying that it had been a waste of money to buy a coffin if she was just going to burn him, she didn't care. She felt it was the right thing to do.

A few minutes later, aware that she would not be able to fall asleep again if she kept thinking about it, she opened her eyes and decided to go down to the bar in search of something that might help her fall asleep.

Once downstairs, [Y/N] smiled unconsciously at the sight of Yata asleep on the sofa at the entrance. Apparently, sleep had been stronger than his stubbornness. Although everyone had agreed that it wasn't necessary, the skater had insisted on standing guard in case anyone tried to break into HOMRA or do anything.

A car passed near the building, briefly illuminating the room with its headlights, and the girl felt guilty. Under the redhead's eyes, two large dark circles stood out. The last few days Yata had been staying with her until she fell asleep and, although then he would go to sleep too, she knew he was doing it while waiting for her to wake up. Every time she had had a nightmare or had been awake for whatever reason, it hadn't taken more than a few seconds for the redhead to appear at her side, asking her if she was okay. Sometimes she came to wonder if he was really going to sleep or if he just spent the night waiting at her door in case she needed his company.

Careful not to wake him, [Y/N] picked up a blanket nearby and placed it on top of him. She then sat down next to him, resting her head on his shoulder. She didn't know what kind of relationship they were in, but feeling the redhead's proximity made her feel safe. Who would have thought that this idiot, who had given her so many headaches, would have such a reassuring effect on her.

Yata woke up feeling a weight on him. When had he fallen asleep?

Still lying on him, [Y/N] yawned and brought her hands to her eyes, shielding herself from the sun. When had she appeared at his side? A quick glance at the young woman made his cheeks flush because of the position they were in. One of his arms was around the girl's waist, while the other was resting dangerously close to her breasts. [Y/N] returned his gaze and smiled, oblivious to the skater's thoughts.

          —G-Good morning.

          —Good morning, sleepyhead.

Yata's blush increased as he saw how she stretched out and how the T-shirt she wore as a nightgown clung to her, emphasizing her figure. Realizing that the shirt that looked so sexy on her was Mikoto's, his face changed completely.

He knew it was stupid to get upset about it. Since he had known [Y/N] he had always seen her sleeping in those T-shirts and he knew for a fact that it didn't mean anything. However, he couldn't shake that annoying feeling. The same feeling he had felt at Ryu's funeral when he saw [Y/N] taking refuge and crying in Mikoto's arms while he was unable to do anything for her.
