August 8th, 2014
Before I start telling my whole story I feel like I should tell you a little bit about my best friend and his death. It all began on a long, treacherous, cold night on August 23rd, 2012. It was the average "get ready for bed" part of the day. I started brushing my teeth and taking out my contacts. Abruptly, my phone starting vibrating on my nightstand. I quickly left the bathroom and ran over to my cellphone, the caller I.D. said that the incoming call was from my best friend, Jason. I declined the call because he had been bothering me earlier in Algebra class to hang out and I just wanted to have a weekend to myself. I moved along with my nightly routine and took a shower and then made my way to bed. The next morning I woke up to a message on my phone from Jason saying he need to talk to me ASAP. Once I had seen this message I gave him a call, his phone rang and rang, and kept leaving me at his voicemail. Suddenly, I heard my mom on the phone sounding appalled, so I ran into the kitchen to find her writing a "thinking of you" card to Jason's family. I asked her what was wrong and she told me that I was going to be astonished. She then told me that Jason had gone missing last night and that his parents found his suicide note on his bedside that morning. I fell to my knees, I couldn't think, I couldn't feel, I could barely breathe. That's how it all began.
