Part 1

I didn't want to wake up. Every part of my body ached. Yet I could hear the faint beeping of a machine and could smell the distant stench of disinfectant. I was finally able to feel the slight tingling sensation in my feet and hands so I decided it was time to get up and face what ever mess I've gotten myself into again. I was in my usual hospital room with the usual IV and the usual chart that sat at the foot of my bed with the usual stats. I could tell it was my usual room as there is was hole in the wall from when I first woke up here. A Doctor walk in, the doctor I always have Dr Williams.

I had a light headache from the high I was coming down from and the drugs I had taken still had a slight effect on me making Dr Williams words to sound a little unclear and mushed together dispute being asleep for at least ten hours.

'I see you wake.' He spoke picking up my chart and glancing at it.
'This can't keep happening, that's twice now this month and you were here three times last month.'  He stressed running a hand through his dark drown hair, glancing up from the chart.

I didn't reply. I never reply.

'You can go in a few hours but  before that you know what has to happen.' Dr Williams spoke again rubbing his temple, his tiredness was evident.

As I am a miner, they have to call the police and my social worker they usually take me to an orphanage, but I always escape at some point during the night. I then usually find abandoned buildings or park benches to sleep on.

'Oh and a heads up since you seem to keep ending up here and the fact you were caught with drugs the police are taking you into custody.' He spoke softly but clearly, before exiting the room, taking the chart with him. Everything was silent, apart from the obnoxiously loud beeping of Machines  and different alarms.

I sighed . My fate is sealed.

I took the time before the police showed up to come up with an escape plan. I don't think they would cuff me as I'm not dangerous so I might be able to just run before or after we arrive at the station or I might be able to run now, but after last time I don't think that would work. If they cuffed me it would be a bit more complicated so I will only be able to run down roads due to not being able to use my hands to jump over hedges or fences which is not ideal.

I was cut of from my thoughts as three police officers walked through the door as well as a nurse that started taking out my IV and my social worker, Jess. Who was looking at me with her usually disappointed look.

'Miss you are under arrest for illegal possession of class A drugs.' One of the officers spoke once the iv was out and I was able to move more freely.
'We will give you a minute to change then you will fallow us down to the station' another spoke before all of them left probably to sign my discharge papers.

I took my clothes from there usual spot In the cabinet and changed into them. After a few more minutes the officers walked back in.
'Fallow us please.' One spoke, so I got up and fallowed them out of the hospital. It was cold so I hugged my leather jacket closer to me. There were two police cars. I was standing in between the officers but as we were walking i drifted towards the left more so I could run and be a few steps ahead of them. Once we were a few feet away from the cars one of the officers had gotten in so I took this as my opportunity to run as fast as I could.

I slipped out from the officer and sprinted as fast as I could in the opposite direction to were the road was. I could hear both officers shouting into there radios I assume the other stayed back with Jess to inform the hospital. Both officers were shouting for me to stop but I didn't. I love the adrenaline rush and how fast my heart was beating. It made me feel like a actual living thing, not just a shell of something. I jumped over a hedge and some how ended up in a forest I tried to doge the tree roots but tripped a few times due to the drugs still being in my system. I could still hear the officers so I continued running. Until I reached a dead end. I stood gasping for air hoping the officers got lost some were. But I knew they hadn't as I could here them still shouting and running towards me. So I sat down agains a tree pulled my knees into my chest and waited for there arrival.
