(During one of the encounters, Hal and John manage to capture a Sinestro Corps member alive. Back on their spaceship, they interrogate the captive, seeking information about Sinestro's plans and the inner workings of the Sinestro Corps)

(The captive reveals that Sinestro has a grand design to conquer the universe but also to humiliate the Guardians of the Universe and the Green Lantern Corps. Sinestro believes that fear is the true power that drives beings, and he aims to instill fear in every corner of the cosmos, eradicating hope and order)

(Motivated by the captive's words, Hal and John formulate a plan to infiltrate the central power battery of the Sinestro Corps, where they believe the key to dismantling the Corps lies. (In the chaos that ensues, Hal and John manage to escape Qward, taking the captive Sinestro Corps member with them as evidence of their triumph. They return to Oa, where they present their findings and the captivity to the Guardians of the Universe, hoping to gain their support and strategize their next move)
