'I am not liking that frown on your face,' Maggie remarks worriedly. Now that her partner has finally gotten better after a long week of needing sleep and medication, all she wants is for her to be able to be her brightest self. Arguably, Nina isn't the brightest person but the moments of softness only Maggie gets to witness illuminate her world.

Getting to call Nina her "partner" is a new development, one she honestly hadn't expected so soon but any chance she gets, she uses it. The words "partner" and "girlfriend", as well as "love" and "darling", sound sweet on her tongue. A bleak day would be a day when Maggie can't greet Nina with a kiss and call her the sweetest things. Life's joys come in the simplest ways.

As Nina keeps her frowning gaze focused on her phone, Maggie tries again. 'Is everything okay?'

This time, she looks up and she about throws her phone back on the counter. 'It's ... Lindsay. They've been texting me.'

'Okay,' Maggie says calmly, gathering her thoughts. 'Is this something you want?'

'What? No. I want them to leave me alone already. I don't even know why they're reaching out if they couldn't stand me in the first place.' Maggie moves over to her, drawn in by the hurt expression on Nina's face. All she wants to do is kiss it better but she knows well enough to respect her space right this instant. 'Somehow, I can't seem to block their number just yet either. There's too much history. I'm sorry, I know that sounds- I'm a bad person.'

'That sounds completely reasonable. I would be more worried if you could drop someone you spent your life with just like that,' Maggie cups Nina's cheeks in her hands. 'You have every reason to talk to them, you know.'

Nina gulps. 'I just don't want you to be angry with me.'

Maggie's face speaks volumes and Nina knows she shouldn't expect her to be angry for receiving texts. Still, she can't stop that voice in her head. She hasn't even responded to Lindsay yet. What is there to respond? She has absolutely nothing she wants to say to them. Standing here with her phone pinging in front of her while the sweetest angel is with her, she wishes she had the courage to let every bit of her ex go. But she can't. There's too much left unsaid, too much hurt left in her heart.

'Anyway,' Nina promptly changes the subject before Maggie can respond. She knows that anything her girlfriend might say to her now will make her too emotional to go on with her evening. Maggie has a powerful way with words and her soft voice can make Nina feel the entire spectrum of emotions. She is not in the mood for a crying session today. 'Everything is tidied up here so maybe it's time to head over to Aziraphale's.'

Nina starts moving but Maggie grabs her hand more forcefully than usual. Nina winces.

'I'm sorry, love. I think we should wait.'

'Why?'

Tonight, Nina was going to close up shop a bit earlier so they could go over to A.Z. FELL AND CO. to see if the angel has finally reappeared so Maggie could talk business with him. She wanted to pay her rent and discuss leaving the shop. Maggie had been thinking about it over the past few days but the "if only's" far surpassed the "what if's". The idea of sharing a space with Nina is such a delightful prospect to her, especially since she didn't need to suggest it herself. She refuses to move in though if Nina doesn't seem emotionally prepared. So she tells her exactly that.

'I do not wish to move this quickly if you might have regrets, especially when it comes to something this huge. I wholeheartedly believe we are on the same page about us but maybe you need to get that through to a certain someone,' Maggie nods to Nina's phone. 'Not today, maybe not even this month. But you need closure before we take this step together. I don't mean to pry but they did not exactly seem like a healthy partner.'
