My POV *One Year Ago*

Growing up in Wrath was always something new and exciting waiting to happen. My father helped the May's on their farm so Millie and I grew up practically sisters.

I was always the slight odd one out in town due to my different looks that most folks. I had almost a rose gold skin color contrary to the normal red tone, however Pa always said that's what made me unique. I was typical in size, and had the normal black horns with small white lines, long black hair with a slight wave to it, and small fangs to complete the package. Though my tail was slightly longer than most, at the end instead of a normal triangled tip, mine looked like a heart.

Normally Friday nights Millie and I would go to town and party hard enjoying ourselves, but tonight she had a date with this 'Moxxie' fellow. Wishing her luck and knowing if he wasn't up to her standards that he'd be in some deep shit with our two families I waved her and him off.

"Well least he's a gentleman." I hummed with a smile that he came and picked her up while everyone was still finishing up chores so it was only Millie and I standing on the porch when he pulled in. Deciding to still enjoy the night, I headed to the bar after saying bye to Pa, Lin and Joe.

Ordering a sandwich with some chips and a drink, I sat at a small table hidden in the back away from the loud noises of farmers and cowboys enjoying a few drinks and unwinding. I scrolled through my phone humming something to myself as I began to eat when I heard a rattle near me. I looked up seeing a handsome imp around my age, maybe a year or two older, grinning at me like I was his next prize.

"Nice try Asshole. I'm not a one night stand Gal, go bother someone else." I scoffed, looking back down at my phone hearing an amused 'huh' before the cowboy cleared his throat. I raised an eyebrow looking at him waiting to see why he was still bothering me.

"Sorry ma'am, didn't mean to offend you."

"S'alright." He nodded and I went back to my sandwich in peace.

The next week Millie and Moxxie went on another date, clearly interested in each other and after threatening not to break her heart, I headed back to get another dinner for myself. Thoughts about the week before came back and I wondered if I would see the mysterious imp again, or if he was just passing by. Heading towards the empty table again, I paused my footsteps when I heard the familiar rattle as he entered the bar. He continued his walk to the bar, his eyes scanning the place until he saw me and pursed his lips, lost in his own thoughts before sitting down on a stool.

Shrugging it off, I sat down and begun enjoying myself until my drink was nearing empty and I sighed with a stretch ready to call it a night when I looked up to see the cowboy walking this way with his drink and what looked to be a refill of mine in the other.

"Pardon me ma'am. I noticed-" He seemed flustered, as if this was all new to him and I chuckled thanking him and grabbed the drink.

"Playing the long game? Or just trying to be a gentleman for once?" I asked, offering the empty seat with a  smile.

"Can't it be both?" He joked before taking a sip and shrugged. "Actually I don't know what's gotten into me lately. Can't say I hate it though."

"I'm Lizzie." I held out my hand with a smile and he nodded giving my hand a formal shake with a grin, flashing a golden tooth.

"The name's Striker."

"I'll see you this weekend?" I texted Striker, who couldn't see me off because of a job.

"Can't wait to hear all about your new job this weekend, Darlin'." I looked up from my phone and heard my mother asking Millie a hundred questions. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Ma, Pa, relax. I'll be fine. I'll be with Millie and Moxxie, remember?" I asked, setting my bag in the van we were using.

Millie, Moxxie, and I were going to meet up with one of Moxxie's friends named Blitz and his adopted hellhound Loona, to start our own assassination business.

Millie and Moxxie, now just recently married had decided to move to Pride to be more in the city and closer to work. While they were moving to Imp city in Pride, I would bounce back and forth between Wrath and Pride. I talked to Striker, my boyfriend of now one year, who helped me come up with a compromise. I'd crash on Millie and Moxxie's couch during the week, and on the weekends, I'd come back home where I could then see Striker all weekend long as he wasn't working. I could have my dream job, an amazing boyfriend. How was I suppose to turn down that?

"Your Ma just worries, we both do. But we are so proud of you." Pa smiled as I hugged him.

"I'm still coming home every weekend to see y'all. Striker would have my hide if I left for good." I said as Pa handed me a wrapped gift.

"I know, but still... my little pumpkin spice all grown up. It's a little going away gift. Your Ma and I saved everything we had for it." I looked at it and carefully set it down, opening it slowly as a glow coming from inside. No fucking way. I gasped, pulling out a matching dagger and gun set as Millie and Moxxie joined in on the gushing.

"Pa! I love it!"

"The best for my baby!" he grinned as I ran back, rubbing the weapons. It's genuine. A blessed tipped rifle and a holy dagger. As far as anyone knows, it can kill anything, anyone. This is going to be amazing.

What the hell could go wrong?
