Omniscience P.O.V.
Three weeks have gone by and a lot has happened…
Bryce, Jay, DeAndre, and his girl were bailed out of jail. They were charged with underage drinking and they have to serve 100 hours of community service over the course of six months. Dex’s mother was livid and put DeAndre on punishment for a month. DeAndre still sneaks out to parties, to get high, and see his girlfriend. He still has that “YOLO” attitude.
Bryce’s dad was cool about the situation. Or it seemed like it. Bryce’s dad was mad but he didn’t want to put him under anymore stress. Bryce’s parents are going through a divorce. His mom moved to upstate New York and his younger sister moved with her. He misses her a lot but refuses to admit it. Bryce’s dad agreed to keep it on hush mode from his mom until the divorce was finalized. On the outside Bryce seems fine, but on the inside he is taking the divorce really hard. When his dad isn’t home he tries to drink the problems away but it’s not working for him. His behavior is becoming destructive and his friends are starting to worry about him.
Jay’s parents were very disappointed. Jay has been living a double life. At home he is sweet, smart, and respectful. But his parents don’t know about the side who gets drunk, high, and many other things they wouldn’t approve of. They think every day he comes home and studies. Being that his parents are both doctors graduating from Princeton they want him to follow in his footsteps. Jay is sick of trying to live up to their expectations. He wants to become a professional basketball player which he is great at or join the military. But they will not let him because they are afraid he is going to end up like his older brother who wanted to become a musician but failed horribly and is now a gay stripper living in a tenement sized apartment in the city. Jay feels there is no one on his side.
Piere has been Dex’s closest friend since he moved here in the 6th grade. He was awkward looking at first super scrawny, tall, and odd. He didn’t make many friends but then he met Dex and his life changed. Yes, he is from France. His mom is a high class fashion designer. She is constantly traveling the world. She buys him expensive things out of guilt of not being there. Now being a sophomore he looks way better with hazel eyes, light skin, and a super fit body. He has been independent for a very long time. He lives in a loft apartment by himself and often feels very lonely.
Asia and Sasha have been partners in crime since the second grade. They were the bullies of the school. They would do cruel things to people for dumb reasons. They both came from poor families. So they took out their anger out on rich white kids out of jealousy. Sasha doesn’t know who her father is and her mom is a prostitute but keeps that from Sasha. Asia lies with her mom and her dad hasn’t been around, her sister Nicki lives with him. She despises Nicki because her mother was her dad’s mistress when her parents were married. And when she found out she slept with her boo Bryce made her even madder. But they learned to talk out their feelings and now they are best friends which Sasha is not happy about. Sasha is developing a plan to split them up and keep Asia on her side. Asia’s thinking about moving up there to spend more time with her sister.
Minie moved here when in the beginning of her freshman year. Her life was swell until she met Sasha and Asia. Although she didn’t make a lot of friends at first; she liked being independent, and not having to depend on anyone. When she met Asia and Sasha her world turned upside down. They were nice in the beginning but once she began to see their true colors she wanted out. Sasha and Asia being the people they are couldn’t let that happen. So they found out why she moved here and used it against her. Minie hates hanging around them, Brittney is her only escape. Brittney reminds her of the good friends and life she used to have.
Dex has been very anxious since the party. He hasn’t been doing anything that would make him look bad in court. He doesn’t know who to trust since the situation with Sammy and is paranoid that Tamera is following him. Other than that he and Brittney have been going strong. He thinks they are ready to do it but doesn’t know how to ask her. He is planning something really special for their three month anniversary coming up. His court date has been pushed back another three months because the judge recommended they see a physiologist to see if they can deal with their issues without anyone getting in trouble. Tamera is being Tamera, trying to makes Dex’s life even worse than it already is. She’s planning to do something horrible to Brittney out of envy and to get back at Dex. Why she has all this hate towards Dex is still unknown.
