Unlikely pair // Theo Nott

Chapter 8

It's 6 pm, and Pansy is helping me pick out an outfit to meet Theo.

"I think you should wear something that really shows off your figure, he couldn't keep his hands off of you in the little black dress you wore on Saturday" Pansy says wiggling her eyebrows

"Pansy that would be doing way too much, I don't know if this is really even a date." I sigh

"You're joking right, this is totally a date," she says matter of factly

She pulls out a dress I forgot I bought. "why have you not worn this yet it's perfect!" she says handing it to me giving me no option but to at least try it on.

It was a silky slip dress that fell mid-thigh with a slight slit on the right thigh, it was white with lace detailing around the edges with dainty straps. It really was beautiful.

" You look like an angel, Theo's jaw will be on the floor," Pansy says

"Thanks Pansy" I say softly while looking at the dress in the mirror. It wasn't tight necessarily but it did a great job at accentuating my bodies curves. I pulled on a pair of shoes and a light cardigan incase it was chilly. My hair was pulled away from my face and my face had light makeup. I did feel quite pretty in this dress.

By the time I was done getting ready it was time to meet Theo.

I began walking down the hallway to the door that held the staircase to the astronomy tower. There I found Theo, holding a bouquet of tulips. My favorite. I couldn't contain the wide smile that fell across my face when I saw him. He met me halfway looking me up and down as he did so.

"You are the prettiest thing I have ever seen darling" he says in a husky voice. His hand is on my cheek admiring me. I've never felt so beautiful then how he was making me feel right now.

"I think I could say the same thing about you" I say back loving the way his cheeks turned a slight pink color. I made Theodore Nott blush. I should go down in history for that.

He takes my hand and guides me up the stairs to the astronomy tower.

"I haven't ever really been up here before" I say as we finish the last few steps

"This is my favorite place. I come up here a lot. It helps me make decisions or work through my emotions." He replies

I look at him as he opens the door. There is so much to him that i'm dying to know.

I gasp as we walk in. There is candles lit everywhere, music is softly playing, and there is a little pallet set up blankets and pillows with all kinds of desserts sitting on top. This might be heaven. He's looking at me when I turn to him, " you did this for me?" I ask

He pulls me into the room and has me to sit down next to him. We were so close I could see every freckle on his face. He's still holding on to my hand as he says, " y/n I've had a crush on you since year 1, when we were both too young to know what crushes were. You've always been kind, and smart and beautiful. When I look at you, I feel overwhelmed that you exist." He pauses. I feel my eyes begin to tear up, "why didn't you say anything to me until now" I ask.

He runs his hand through his hair and looks back up at me, " I thought I wasn't good enough for you, growing up I was always told that i was worthless, that I'd probably never marry because no one would want to be with me. My dad, he... he isn't a good man and all i've heard since birth were those words." I move to sit on his lap, needing to be closer to him. My hands are in his hair, trying comfort him best I could. Tears were now flowing down my cheeks, hearing that Theo thought he didn't deserve love broke my heart. He lifts his hands to wipe my tears away. "Theo, you are worthy of everything good in life, you are more worthy than anyone I know." I say as steady as I can to show him the honesty behind my words.

We are left staring at each other, words unspoken. His hands still on my cheeks, mine in his hair.

My eyes flicker down to his lips then back to his eyes, he does the same.

" I like you Theo" I whisper

He smiles faintly before bringing his lips to mine. The kiss starts off gentle and slow, his hands move move down to my waist as I'm straddling him. I wrap arms tighter around him, moving one hand to the side of his face. The kiss deepens, full of passion.

We break for air for a moment and he says " I like you too". Our mouths are back together in an instant, faint smiles on both of our faces.

He nips at nips at my bottom lip as we pull away, our foreheads resting against each other.

"I smelled you in my love potion" I say, not really sure why I said it.

"I know baby" he smiles and kisses me quickly. "I smelled you too" he says

" I know" I say. This time I lean in and kiss him. "real quick, why did I also smell chocolate?"

"I love chocolate what can I say" he shrugs and I giggle because being around Theo makes me feel lighter than I have ever felt.

We spend the rest of the evening looking out at the stars, eating chocolate covered strawberries, and whispering sweet nothings until it was time to part.

He walks me back to the Hufflepuff common room. He looks so pretty with his messy hair and swollen lips, it makes him look even prettier knowing I did that him.

He catches me staring, "what" he asks, halfway laughing

"Nothing, i'm just really happy" I say smiling

His smile get even bigger, we are right outside of the door when he pushes me up against it and hoovers over my lips.

"I'm really happy too" He says earnestly before he kisses me goodnight
