It's been a month ever since I started feeling like I am breathing again. Mark and I have gotten closer to each other. I never expected myself to ever open up to anyone about the things my dad used to do. But Mark made it easier for me. I have finally realized that I don't have to endure this pain on my own when I did nothing wrong.
It's hard to not fall for someone who is there for you no matter what. And to me, that person is Mark. For the past month, he helped me to get over everything that was holding me back from living my life. But my childhood crush becoming love now and I don't know what to do about it. I am certain that Mark feels the same about me. His eyes speak more than he does.
Mark picked me up from my dorm today saying that he has prepared a surprise for me. But we have been moving around this silly amusement park. Even though I love them so much but I had gotten my expectations high from him that maybe he was going to confess to me today but it doesn't seem that way. He has been trying to win a teddy bear for me by playing the carnival games here but he loses every time. I am pretty sure that no one wins these anyway since they are rigged. But Mark's competitive self has taken over him and no one can do anything about it now.
"This is a straight-up scam." He said annoyed before we walked from the last carnival.
"I told you when you tried at the first one." I looked around at the kids happily going for their favorite rides.
"I should have listened to you," he said sighing in defeat as I smiled to myself
"What's time? I have to return before eight." I reminded him
He glanced at his wristwatch and then toward the sky. Before I could speak anything he held my wrist and took me toward the other side of the park where a lot of people were gathered.
