The Next Day-Dr. Blu's POV

I was in a conference room with Dr. Travis and Dr. Sherman. We were sitting at a table, Dr. Travis on one side and Dr. Sherman and I were on the other side of him. We were here because Travis said he wanted to talk about Echidna.

"So I called you two here to talk about SCP-SB699. Well, I wanted to try an experiment." Travis started but was cut off before he could speak again. "What kind of experiment?" Sherman asked, "I wanted to see how they would react if we put them with another SCP, " Travis finished

"He wants to do what?.. What SCP is he talking about?.. Does he want to put them with a dangerous one?" All these thoughts kept running through my head, as I thought of all outcomes. I didn't want to lose the trust I already had with them.

"What SCP were you thinking?" Sherman beat me to the question. I prayed and hoped that the SCP wouldn't be that dangerous, "I was thinking SCP-049," Travis answered, and my heart dropped hearing that.

SCP-049 is also known as the plague doctor. He is an Euclid class object. SCP-049 is a humanoid entity, roughly 1.9 meters in height, which bears the appearance of a medieval plague doctor. While SCP-049 appears to be wearing the thick robes and the ceramic mask indicative of that profession, the garments instead seem to have grown out of SCP-049's body over time.

SCP-049 is capable of speech in a variety of languages, though it tends to prefer English or medieval French. While SCP-049 is generally cordial and cooperative with Foundation staff, it can become especially irritated or, at times, outright aggressive if it feels that it is in the presence of what it calls the 'Pestilence'. ScP-049 will try to kill said victim with skin on skin contact, then SCP-049 will 'heal' the victim but that leads to the victim turning into a creature that resembles a zombie and it will listen to SCP-049.

"And who will take them to 049's containment?" I manage to ask without choking up. "Well, since it appears that you have gained a little trust with SCP-SB699, I think that either me or Dr. Sherman should take them to 049's containment so that the trust you have built is not ruined if something is to go wrong, " Travis answered.

"Does he think something will go wrong?" I thought a little suspicious of what he meant by that, but right now, that wasn't my priority. "I need to tell Echidna about this." I asked before standing up to leave."Should I tell SCP-SB699 tonight so that way they won't try to escape as we move them?"

Travis looked at me before nodding. I nodded back before leaving, Sherman following me. "Ok, what's up?" He asked, walking next to me, "I don't know what you mean, " I answered, not sure of what he meant. "I mean you and SCP-SB699, you seem to not like it when Travis said 049" Sherman said.

"Of course he knew, I'm not that good at hiding stuff, am I?" I thought before coming up with an answer. "Well, I had just gained a little trust with them, and IF something does go wrong, I... I just don't want that trust to vanish." I halfway admitted, not wanting to tell him about the bond I felt.

"Well then, be careful," he replied as we came to Echidna's door. "I will," I said, walking into the room. Echidna was awake and looked at me from their corner, still holding the plushie I gave them.

"Echidna, tomorrow you are going to meet another SCP, SCP-049, or the plague doctor." I told them. "The plague doctor?" they asked in their small voice. "Yes, the plague doctor, do... Do you know that name? "I confirmed then asked.

"Sounds familiar," they said, this got me thinking, "If that sounds familiar, then they had to be around near the black plague days." My thoughts got cut off with their voice."Will he be mean? " I looked directly at them. They hugged the plushie close to their chest. I walked closer to them, then knelt down on one knee. "I... I don't know, but I promise you, I won't let anything harm you. Ok?" I lightly grabbed their shoulder, they flinched a little, but they looked at me in the eyes. "I promise," I repeated.

"Now I got to go, I won't be able to take you to the plague doctor tomorrow" I said, a worried look came onto their face so I quickly retorted "But my friend Dr.Sherman will take you and again I promise he won't do anything to harm you" Now I have to hope nothing goes wrong cause if it does then, that promise reflects on me.
