In Star City a few weeks later

"I've found him, and it's worse than we thought" Green Arrow told me over the comm. "That's what I was afraid of, thank you for keeping tabs on him while I've been busy kicking ass" I told Ollie. I went outside and headed to the roof to wait with GA, Wally, Guardian, and Dick for Roy to get back. I watched as the zip line arrow attached itself to the building and he zip lined onto the roof. I also watched him tumble to the ground and land at Ollie's feet. "Hey Roy, need a hand?" Ollie asked as he looked down at the man who I had loved all these years. "No" Roy said as he smacked his former mentor's hand away. "We think you do" Dick said as he, Wally, and I walked out of the shadows. "Me especially" I said as I looked at him. Dinah also stepped out from behind the chimney. "I have nothing more to say to any of you, nothing to explain, nothing to justify" Roy said as he turned to walk away. I was so ready to cry. He was making things so hard on me.

"Not even to me Roy, I have stood by your side for the past 5 years and you have nothing more to say to me?" I pleaded with him. "Not here, not with them" He said as I felt Dick place a comforting hand on my shoulder. I stepped forward and grabbed the money that was sticking out of his waistband. "Nothing?" I asked him as I held the money up. "It's not what it looks like" he said as he paused in his tracks. "I mean that store owner won't miss it" Roy said as he turned to face us. "He offered me a reward anyway, I have a life to pay for" he tried to argue. "If this is how you plan on supporting us then I don't want your support" I said as I scowled at him. "Besides, I deserve it. Guy wouldn't have any of his money back if I hadn't stepped in" Roy said as I walked up to him and slapped him across the face. "Dude, are you even listening to yourself?" Wally asked him as Dick grabbed me by the shoulder and gently pulled me backwards towards him. I was grateful that my little brother was there.

"Look I need it" Roy said as he grabbed the money back. "I need it to find Speedy. The real Roy Harper. A search like that is expensive. Especially when the rest of you have given up" he said as I frowned at him. "I haven't given up Roy, I'm just sick of being placed second in your life" I said as I walked up to him and grabbed his hand. "Roy I know you feel lost, but that doesn't mean you are alone" Dinah said as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm not the one who's lost" he said as I he shrugged her hand off and turned around. "When was the last time you trained? The last time you slept?" She asked him. "I've missed you sleeping in our bed, it feels empty Roy" I told him. "Don't even start, I'm in the best shape of my life" he said as he looked down at his feet. "Oh really?" I said as I threw a punch at him. He avoided it and I quickly followed up with a second. I threw a kick and kept pushing him closer to the edge.

He eventually hit the edge and only realized it when he started falling back and I pulled him forward by his shirt. "Best shape of your life my ass" I said as I pulled him so close that our noses were basically touching. "You got your ass handed to you" I said as I glared into his eyes. "Roy, you used to treat your body like a temple, I admired that about you, but now..." I said as my voice trailed off and I let go of his shirt, he fell to the ground almost immediately. It was hard to watch. "My body's no temple. It's a cheap knockoff, a clone" he said as I kneeled on the ground next to him. "Roy, go home to your beautiful girlfriend. You can be a genuine hero again, it'll be like old times" Ollie said as he held his hand out again. "You and me, training and fighting crime, just hanging out, shooting-" Ollie added before Roy cut him off. "You're confused, probably thinking of the other guy" he spat at his former mentor. "The original, the one you stopped looking for" he added. I was sick of him and his attitude.

"Me, I'm just-" he said before he was interrupted. "We get it, you're a clone" Jim said as he stepped in front of his nephew. "But you're not the only clone on this rooftop and I know from personal experience how tough it was to come to grips with being a copy of someone else" Jim said as he placed a hand on his chest. "That's why I gave up my identity as Guardian, so that I could figure out exactly who Jim Harper is supposed to be" Jim explained to Roy. "That's the only thing you gave up" Roy said as he looked at the ground. "Roy, you know we both spent years looking for the original Speedy" Jim said as he moved his hands to strengthen his point. "And everyone else here did the same" I added as I placed my hand into Roy's. "We never found him because the Light didn't keep him alive" Jim finished as Roy looked defeated at the ground. "It was Cadmus policy to delete the source material" Jim said as Roy squeezed my hand. "He's dead brother" Jim said as I laid my head on Roy's shoulder. "I'm sorry" I whispered softly.
