Chapter 1

Anddddd here we are with the first chapter. I hope you guys like it. I'm not fully sure of the direction I want the story to go but it will come to me as I write. Anyways, enjoy 🫶🏾.

Los Angeles, Chloe's Penthouse.

"Chloe Elizebeth Carter, if you don't get up. I know you just got off tour but you don't need to still be laying on your ass at 11 in the morning." My very loud, Very annoying best friend Solána yelled at me, pulling the covers off of my body.

I huffed my breath as I sat up since the sun was already blinding me. I turned my head to look at Sol and glared at her. She stared at me with her eyebrow slanted and held her hands out to pull me up. I grabbed her hands as she hauled me up to my feet then handed me my towel while pushing me into the bathroom.

I walked into the bathroom starting the shower as Sol came in to wash her face. She turned her head to me as I started to strip my clothes. "Mama Tina called and said we have to be around Mamas house around 4 for the cookout. Apparently everyone is gonna be there" she said as I stepped into the shower allowing the hot water to wake me up even more. "Who all gonna be there? I really don't feel like being around everybody. They ask too many questions" I asked her while scrubbing my body. "Um I think she may have invited Diggy but I don't think her or anybody for that matter knows what went down between you two so" she said, making a face.

I rolled my eyes in anger. I really didn't want to see this boy especially after coming home from tour. I just wanted to relax but obviously that isn't going to happen.

"Why would he even accept the invite knowing what went down between y'all. He just like looking for trouble" Sol said as I stepped out of the shower with a slight mug on my face. "He just wants to get under my skin. He knows I won't make a scene in front of everyone" I said as I dried off and started to lotion up my body. "I damn sure will, I don't give a fuck about him. I wish he would try some shit while I'm around you" Solána said while getting loud again.

I chuckled knowing she was dead serious. As I got dressed and ready for the day, I went downstairs into the kitchen to make a quick snack. I never really ate breakfast in the morning but I knew me and Sol were either gonna stop and get something or wait until we made it to my parents house to eat.

I grabbed a snack bar and my bottle of water and made my way to the front door.

"Solána, how you gon wake me up and rush me out the bed and you ain't even ready? Bring your ass on or you can catch an Uber out there" I said. I can hear her talking on the phone and fast feet coming towards the steps. When she made it down, she flicked me off and made her way to the car. I chuckled and locked the door behind us, heading towards the car.

30 minutes later...

Throughout the whole ride out here, Solána big head ass stayed on the phone. I know she's talking to the girl she's been so head over heads for that she's been gushing about for the past 3 months but I have no clue who she is. As long as she made my best friend happy I could care less.

By the time she got off the phone, we made it where we needed to be.

"You done talking to your mysterious lover?" I asked her, raising my eyebrows. She rolled her eyes, "she's not even a mystery. We just vibing foreal. I don't even know if she wants anything serious" she said while unbuckling her seatbelt. I did the same as we both got out, "who says y'all have to be serious now? Y'all can vibe as long as y'all need to. Ain't nobody rushing y'all" I said pushing the door open to my studio room after walking into the building. I sat my stuff down as she huffed, "I know but...I don't know this girl just seems different" she said sitting down besides me as I started to tinker with the music board.

As I continued to tinker with everything to my liking, I started to jot down lyrics. Solána also started to work on her own music as she started to light a blunt and smoke. She passed it to me and I did the same. We had a steady rotation of smoking and writing for next few hours until it was nearing 3 o'clock and decided to head to my parents house.

The ride to my parents house wasn't nothing but 15 minutes from the studio but we still decided to play music loud as hell until we got there.

When we got there, I unlocked the house door and went inside just to feel hands wrap around my waist and a body slam into mine. I looked down to see my little sister on me. "Chloe, your home!" Blue exclaimed as she gripped her arms around me. I hugged her with same excitement, also missing my baby sister. "I missed you Ivy" I said kissing her forehead. She smiled at me then went to hug Solána. I went into the living room to see my other little sister Halle with my parents, grandparents and my aunts. I was then tackled again by Halle onto the couch causing me to burst into laughter. "Sister" she said dragging the r out. I patted her on the back.

She's so dramatic.

"Hey Haiz, I missed you too" I chuckled after she let me go. I went around and hugged everyone else. "I invited diggy to the cookout baby, I hope you don't mind. He said he was gonna come and help set up" my grandmother said to me. Me and Solána shared a quick look that didn't go unnoticed by my mother and I gave her a small smile. "That's okay grandma" I said curtly.

My mama looked at me with a raised eyebrow and I shook my head. "I also invited an old friend, girls. You haven't seen them in a while but I know you will be ecstatic when you do" She said with a small smirk.

Me and Solána looked at each other again with the same look. Please let's hope shit don't pop off.
