Chapter 5

1 week after the Carter's cookout
Chloe & Solána's shared penthouse...

Why must everything turn into a disaster when things decide to get better for me?

It's been about a week since the cookout and me and Akira have been talking non stop. We both would talk on the phone all the time, text or face time any chance we get. Whenever she wasn't doing paper work or helping Renée with her clients, or if I wasn't in the studio or hanging with my family we were constantly on the phone with one another.

During the time with us talking again, Diggy decided to air out everything that happened with KJ threatening him and starting  false allegations that she hit him and some shit. Akira could care less about whatever he is saying. Especially since he never said her name. At this point he was just whining for attention. On my end, his fans were getting on my ass ultimately believing everything he was saying even though he was just talking , they were constantly threatening me and sticking to everything diggy was saying. They already didn't like me when we were dating so the situation just added to there hate for me.

I really didn't understand why Diggy had this obsession with making me look bad. We were already broken up for a good month when the cookout came around. He just stayed trying to torment me and I guess KJ's reappearance  just added fuel to the fire for him.

Since KJ threatened him, he hasn't came around to see me anymore. I'm happy he decided to stay away because now I'm starting to get some peace of mind.

Right now, I was laying in bed bored out of my mind. Solána went to go visit her parents and won't be back until later tonight so I didn't have anything to do. I would text Akira but she told me yesterday she would be busy with some paper work. I honestly missed her presence. I was broken out of my thinking by my phone dinging.

I felt myself smiling at her last text. I shared my location with her then decided to hop in the shower. Around 15 minutes later, I got out and got dressed into some shorts and a t-shirt. I went down into the kitchen to give Apollo some food. While refilling his water, my doorbell rung. I walked to the door with a little pep in my step knowing it was KJ. When I opened the door, she was standing there in some sweatpants and a shirt with some slides on with a bag of takeout.

"Aww you love me" I told her, grabbing the bag of food and walking to the kitchen. I heard her chuckle and take her shoes off at the door before shutting it. She walked into the kitchen with me and helped me with the food.

"So watchu doing in the house by yourself CC?" She asked me. I swallowed the food I was chewing, "I told you Lána wasn't here, my parents are busy, blue is at dance practice and Halle had a studio session" I told her. "Why you ain't call me? You know I would have been over her earlier" she asked me. I shrugged, "you told me yesterday you were busy so I didn't want to bother you" I said. She chuckled, "when have you ever known me to be too busy for you?" She asked. I shrugged. She shook her head, "that's not an answer, Chloe." She said. Her voice strong causing me to close my legs a bit. "Never" I said shyly. "Ight then" she said.

After we ate, we migrated to my room. She hopped on the PS5 that I had over my house for Jules whenever he came past to see me. I sat just watching her because I could never get into the concept of video games. While she played 2k, I laid my legs across her lap and watched her play. Occasionally she would rub my ankles whenever she was on a timeout.

Eventually I got tired of watching her play and switched my position to lay my head on her lap. She looked down at me and made a silly face causing me to laugh. I ending up grabbing the controller out of her hands and sitting up on her lap, taking her place. She allowed me, not fighting my decisions and relaxed in our new position. She put her hand over mine, helping me with the controls of the game. When the game finished I laid on the bed I decided to go on live.

"You go ahead and do ya thing. Imma just sit here and finish playing" she told me. I nodded and started the live.

(Let's just pretend she's fresh faced and not with that amazing face beat ok? Ok.)

I laid for a second watching the people trickle in then smiled at the camera.

"Hey y'all" I said cheesing at the camera. Hearts and comments started to flood the live as I watched people comment. "I'm enjoying my break from touring very much. I love seeing you guys on the road but I needed this break" I responded to a question. I glanced over at KJ as she laid at the head of my bed near me while still playing the game. She had took her shirt off a while ago so now she was sitting in her sports bra with her braids thrown into a messy bun.

I was overlooking the comments that were asking about The diggy situation and continued to answer questions. I laughed when I saw Solána join the live and ask a question.

SZA: Ik yo ass is not still laying in bed Chloe 😐

I laughed out loud "no Lána I just laid back down get out of my business" I said. I felt the bed dip next to me and I looked over from the live to see that Akira had changed the television to Queen Charlotte on Netflix and fully laid down next to me. "You finished?" I asked turning over to her. She nodded, "yeah I got bored" she said and scooted a little closer to me. Her shoulder was now in the frame, showing her tattoos. I looked back at the live to see comments start to flood.

User:Chloe who is that in the background?
User2: who shorty in the back?
User3: Bae you cheating on me 😪
SolangeKnowles: I know that isn't who I think it is niece 👀
HalleCarter: ouuuuu I'm telling mama 😂

I laughed at Halle and Titi solo's comments. "Go ahead a tell her haiz ion care and titi you know who it is" I rolled my eyes. Akira looked at me with her eyebrows raised. "Halle said she's gonna snitch to mama and titi solo just being extra" I told her and she chuckled. Fans were still being curios of who was in my background but I ignored them.

After being on live for a little bit I eventually got off and laid with KJ. She was asleep but I was wide awake. I laid on her shoulder a bit as she started to shift. My instagram was blowing up from the live so I turned my phone on DND. KJ moved a bit in her sleep and ended up laying her arm across my waist. I basked in her comfort. We haven't cuddled like this since we were 15-16 years old and I missed it.

I settled into her and fell into an amazing nap.
