do people still run away to the circus?
cook xanax and valium for breakfast
just a tablespoon of LSD
a pinch of ecstasy
do people still leave school for the coal mines?
if so, where are they now
barely a human
in the void
we live in a time
of overlooked substance abuse
holding a loaded gun to your chest
and everyone turns around
look in the mirror and see a hot mess
then have a hard time taking a guess
you cant look them in the eye
because what they hide behind a protector
would only make you cry
immortal by design
but dying on the inside
