"Why the fuck would you ever come here!" I hissed.

I wanted to choke this woman out. How did she get her in here? I told her father to make sure she didn't show up. Security should have known her face to keep her away as well. This was my day to celebrate my wife. I had brought her far away from the whole event. Her drama was not needed.

"Just here to celebrate. You wouldn't want your-" Elena began to speak with a sly grin on her face before some cleared their throat.

"Your bride is waiting for you," a voice said behind me.

I turned around to see her friend, Imani there. Her arms crossed as she looked over to Elena.

"You need to go home. This isn't the place," she said to Elena.

"This is none of your business" Elena snapped. I looked back to her, glaring at her. She was way to pleased with the panic she caused me.

"Go home," I said, pointing toward the door.

Elena rolled her eyes. She had this vindictive look in her eyes. She meant to ruin this moment. I had managed to get this wedding put together. I was going to tell her after our honeymoon, that was my plan. Elena telling her would make this way harder than it needed to be.

Suddenly, I heard a gunshot go off. I went to leave, but Elena grabbed my arm and brought me close to her. I ripped her grip from mine and pushed her to the ground. I ran over to the cabana, knowing something bad had happened. I couldn't run fast enough as my heart leaped into my throat. It was chaotic as all hell. Guns were drawn as people wildly screamed and yelled. I heard a deafening scream over the roar of the crowd. It sounded all too familiar. Jada wasn't in her seat, and neither was Lorenzo or Luas.

I pushed my way through the crowd as I heard Lorenzo yell my name. Corina popped up from the head table with tears in her eyes as she frantically waved me over. I knew right then it was my worst fear. I moved as quickly as I could, fighting through the frantic guest, trying to find a safe place to hide. I forced my way through the crowds of faceless people. I went ice cold when I heard Jada yelled my name. I made my way through till I reached the head of the table. I ran over to see Jada on the ground, making eye contact, for a brief moment. Her hand twitched while she went limp, and her eyes rolled back before shutting completely. Blood covered her dress and leaked out of her mouth. She had been shot, as Corina screamed, yelling no over and over. I didn't know what to do as I went to her side. Her breath was beyond shallow, but I could feel it. Her body was still. Her face was pale and blue began to appear on her lips.

"Do something," my voice roared as Lorenzo held down the pressure on her wound. I missed her before she passed out. I didn't make it in time. I let her die. Nothing else rang through my head.

I don't remember how I got there, but I found myself at the hospital in the private waiting room. I had no idea how long I had been there. I could not remember much of anything, as if life flew by me. It didn't wait for me. Instead it pulled me long, forcing me forward. I stared at the blood on my hands. It was hers. If I had been there I could have taken the bullet. I was going to kill every person involved in this. She was specifically targeted, she was the goal. I would end this world, burn it to the ground, just to find the bastard who did this. Every person they held dear would be no more. Right in front of them. I would make them suffer. My heart ached thinking about losing her, about being told she was dead. I had spent so much time thinking about her, watching her. I had done everything in my power to bring her to me and I was supposed to keep her safe. I couldn't wrap my head around how I allowed her to get hurt. I left her vulnerable and alone. She couldn't die on me. I needed her. I just had her. I had just married her. She called me her husband. Everything was going to work out.
