Yasmin

I heard Kol knock on the door, bringing me out of my thoughts. I was a bundle of nerves at this moment and my stomach was tied in knots, but I was going to let his ass have it.

I hope I look cute, I thought as I stared at myself in the mirror once again. I stopped in front of the door, took a deep breath, and opened it.

He was standing there with a bouquet of my favorite flowers.

I narrowed my eyes slightly and let him in. He knows how much I love flowers. He's trying to sweeten me up.

"Hello beautiful," he said with a smile as he held eye contact.

"Hello," I spoke without emotion and glanced at the flowers again.

He's lucky I don't wanna ruin a perfectly good bouquet or I'd beat him with it.

He extended them to me. "These are for you."

I couldn't help the smile that appeared as I took them from him. "Thank you," I mumbled and grabbed a vase from the bottom cabinet. I put some water in it and poured the plant food before I cut the bottom of the stems and placed them inside. I sat them in the middle of the island and looked at them, wondering if that was the best place.

"You look beautiful, sólnyshka."

As if the name offended me, all of the positive feeling I had in the moment dissipated and was replaced with a surge of anger. Before I knew it, I had turned towards him and slapped him across the face, my tone unwavering as I said, "Don't call me that."

He rubbed his red cheek and looked at me. "Why?"

Is this motherfucker serious right now?

I glared at him. "Is it not obvious? I don't want you to call me that."

He looked down and stayed quiet for a moment. "Will you let me take you out?"

"To butter me up?" I raised an eyebrow and crossed my arms across my chest.

I glanced at the time and saw that I had been standing for ten minutes. If Sergei was here he'd have a fit.

"No, Yasmin. I just—" his jaw tightened and he took a deep breath. "I thought you may have wanted to get away for a little bit. Sergei told me about your limits, specifically with standing, so it won't be anything strenuous."

I rolled my eyes. "And why the fuck should I go anywhere with you? You didn't want me around before so what's different now besides the fact that I was kidnapped by your enemies and tortured. I don't need your pity or whatever the fuck you wanna call this," I motioned to him and the flowers.

He tilted his head at me cussing, but chose to say nothing which was his best bet. "That's not true."

"So I'm a liar?" I seethed. If I had a gun, I'd shoot him.

"No, that's not—"

"The audacity of you to—" A beeping noise went off, making me look at my watch that I was now forced to wear. It was alerting me that my blood pressure was too high, prompting Sergei to call.

I sighed, knowing I was about to be chastised. This baby pissin' me off already. I wanna fuck this nigga up so bad but I can't because I have to be calm and shit.

I huffed and answered Sergei's call. "Yes?"

"Why is your pressure off the charts and why are you not sitting? I told Kol that you have a limit," he gritted through his teeth.
