Shintaro

Vania watched as her kingdom flew up in fire and smoke. She was in the air looking around for any more surviving Shintarians who she could help to safety. She saw a few Shintarian guards peeking their heads out of there hiding places. Some of the guards were in the air discussing the last plans of action to defend the castle and get everyone to safety. Vania, being the queen, had a responsibility of keeping her people safe. But not this time. She had another responsibility - one as a mother this time. She looked at the peaceful child sleeping in her arms. The child she'd wanted ever sense she'd been married. Her child. She couldn't lose her, not after-

No, she thought to herself. You need to stay focused.

Vania flew towards the guards who were discussing plans. She came up to them and explained to them that she had to get her child to safety. The guards quickly agreed. Vania knew what they were thinking by the look on their faces, She's the only heir we've got left. She gave the guards her thanks and headed off to the mountain side. There, she placed the child on the soft grass and took out a piece of paper and a pencil. She quickly scribbled a note to the child's father.

Dear Cole,

I am so sorry this happed to us. Please, take our daughter and raise her. Her name is Amelia. I wish I could say more, but my people are under attack by strange looking serpentine. If you read this and I am not here, I'm sorry I couldn't make it.

Your love

-Vania

Vania sighed. It wasn't nearly enough to tell all the things she wanted to write, but it would have to do. She looked down at her child and stooped down to kiss her forehead goodbye. Then she started to fly away, trying to ignore the wails of her crying daughter. Vania flew back toward the castle with a tear-stained face. As she neared the castle, one of the guards came up to her.

"I know the feeling," he said. "I had to leave my wife and son to come back to defend the castle."

Vania smiled up and the guard marveling his loyalty. "It's not easy," she said. She tried to smile but just couldn't quite get her mouth to move.

"No, its not," the guard said. "But, your Majesty, may I ask a question?"

"Sure, go ahead."

"Might I ask why you aren't taking your child with us?"

Vania looked down at the city below than lifted her head back up to the guard's honest face.

"Because," Vania said in a low voice. "I know she will be safer in Ninjago city with her father."

"That must be a hard decision to make," the guard stated pityingly.

She was about to respond when a sharp crushing pain it the left side of her body. The next thing she knew, she was falling toward the ground below, unable to fly or move her body. Then she was caught in strong arms and was suddenly moving upwards again. A kind, familiar voice said, "Don't worry your majesty. I've got you."

I've got you.

Those were the words that flitted throughout Vania's mind as she drifted into unconsciousness. Then, everything went dark.

Man, that was tragic. I still haven't decided whether or not to kill her or keep her alive. (MHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

Don't worry, I'm not THAT mean 🥴.

Anyway, the next part will be Cole's POV. So, uh, be ready!

Sorry the chapter was so short.

Bye!
