taehyung stared at the shoes in the corner of the screen for more than a few moments. he just couldn't fathom that there was a chance he saw jimin today, let alone any day. jimin lived somewhere here on campus, jimin attended classes somewhere here on campus, and taehyung was also here on campus.

taehyung may have not been insane but holy god it felt like it. he quickly went through any and every possibility that this could be some kind of mistake or wacky coincidence, but the cards line up way too well.

he knew that jimin lived in korea- hell he even knew that jimin went to a university- he just never thought in his life that jimin would be going to the same one as him, let alone that he'd see him in the cafeteria.

that thought alone, the constant replaying of the image of jimin standing there in line, made taehyung's brain fog up with overwhelming emotions. he really didn't know what to do with this information or with himself. this somehow changes everything and nothing at all.

everything, because jimin is a whole lot closer than taehyung ever thought he would be. and nothing, because what would he even do if he saw jimin out in public?

would he just say hi? or would he totally freak out? could he even trust himself to not freak out in front of the pretty blonde?

all this time, jimin felt completely and utterly unreachable. and now, taehyung had to deal with the fact that the blonde is, in fact, within arms reach. if he wanted to see jimin, he could probably just sit in the dining hall for a few hours until he saw him again. hell, the campus was so small he could probably just sit outside for a few hours. but that feels creepy, and taehyung really did not want to creep his favorite streamer out. 

usually, taehyung was good at dealing with things on his own. but in situations like these, ones that are so out of the blue and confusing, taehyung really needed to talk to someone. who in their right mind would be able to deal with finding out that they saw park jimin today and didn't even realize? not to mention find out that he attended the same university as you.

before taehyung knew it, his phone was pressed to his ear with a tingly feeling of anticipation set deep in his chest. his mind was still trying to figure all of this out, still replaying the scenes in his mind. the hoodie, that fuckass smiley face, those pink shoes-

"hello?" a groggy voice said, cutting off taehyung's train of thought. yoongi's familiar voice immediately calmed taehyung down just slightly. the voice on the other line continued, "this better be an emergency. i swear to fucking god, taehyung if this has to do with jimin's stream or something-"

"it is an emergency!" taehyung cut the older off in urgency, not liking the idea of being left alone with his thoughts again. he could not deal with this alone. he could not deal with the fact that jimin went to their university alone. holy shit.

he heard a sigh from the other line, a clear sign of defeat. "what?"

"jimin-" taehyung started before being cut off by the voice on the other line.

"oh my fucking god! what did i just say!" yoongi groaned, and taehyung could hear him shuffling around on the other line, probably adjusting in his bed to fall asleep again. "goodni-"

"just listen!" and taehyung guesses that yoongi could hear the desperation leaking into each one of his syllables, because he heard a deep sigh from the older, followed by more shuffling.

"what about jimin?" yoongi asked, his voice coming through clearer this time, and taehyung could only assume that he sat up. 

taehyung took a deep breath, still feeling the adrenaline course through his body. he tries to calm down by reminding himself that he has the older's attention and he can fully explain his worries with the situation. the situation being that jimin goes to their school and that he's seen him in person. what the fuck.
