"i'm just an ordinary superstar, so far but always hanging where you are"

taehyung knew that in today's world, if he wants to live a happy and content life, then he has to have money. there was no option with the capitalistic ideas that infiltrated the entire world. it forced people to pay and work for everything- especially when it came to education. therefore, taehyung knew that if he wanted to stay in college- let alone the same one as his friends and not to mention park jimin- then he would have to find a way to make at least some sort of financial gain. (all of the money he's given to jimin doesn't help, but taehyung holds no regrets.)

thankfully, the nearly broke college student was able to snag a job at one of his campus's coffeehouses. although taehyung wasn't a big fan of coffee himself, he had little to no difficulty learning how to quickly whip up a few different drinks. it paid decently well for a campus job, and he got to interact with the few people he knew who came in often.

the worst part was that because his schedule was so busy with classes in the week, taehyung had to start working weekends.

the shop was located in the union building, which held multiple little stores for students to get snacks, drinks, and anything else that they might need. the coffeehouse was one of the most popular shops, which was expected for college students who have to wake up early for 8am classes.

thankfully for taehyung, the coffeehouse was not as busy on weekends as it was during the week itself, however that didn't mean he got it easy. since the shop opened at 8am and closed at around 12:30pm, it meant that taehyung had to wake up early and work the entirety of the shift.

that's right, taehyung had to wake up early. which was not ideal at all for the guy who often stayed up until 3 or 4am every night. not even any of his morning classes were this early, the earliest being at 10:30am- which was still a decent six or seven hours of sleep.

taehyung could not function off of three hours of sleep. there was just no way.

and yet there he stood, at exactly 8am, with a green apron tied around his neck and waist. taehyung was clocked in and ready to go- that is if being ready consisted of droopy eyes, bed head, and a bad case of nearly falling asleep while standing up.

the first couple of hours were decently bare, most people taking the opportunity of the weekend to sleep in. of course there were a few people who came in, backpacks on their backs, and seemingly heading off to study somewhere- likely the library. taehyung was slowly waking up as the time passed, yet there was still no doubt in his mind that he was going to take an extremely long nap when he got back to his dorm.

by the time the clock reached 10:30, there was more than a few people who came in for a nice morning coffee. thankfully, taehyung was not the only one working.

his coworker seemed to be a man of few words, however did not act as tired as taehyung did. amongst the couple of hours that they've been working, taehyung noticed the boy seemed more bored than anything. he bounced around in anticipation, tapped his fingers on the counter, sneakily glanced at his phone more than a few times, and seemed to immediately light up whenever students came to order.

taehyung was almost envious of the other's work ethic, but pushed it away to rather be grateful that there was someone to pick up after him if he started to slack.

with a decently long line beginning to form in front of the register, taehyung decided to be the one to take orders as his coworker worked on making the drinks. taehyung would usually help out a little in the back here and there as long as he kept the line relatively short.
