"a spell is cast upon me, i could stay up all night without feeling sleepy"

taehyung stared blankly at the boy standing in front of him, mouth agape, unable to move.

park jimin was standing in front of him, in the flesh. if he breathed in hard enough taehyung would probably smell him from where he was sitting. if he reached out his hand, his fingertips would graze the other's arm. and if he spoke, jimin would hear him.

he couldn't help but let his eyes graze over him. he was short and small-framed, but also had defining muscle, especially in his thighs which taehyung stared at for a second too long. his black hoodie was big and hugged his frame in a way that made him seem soft, and he took note on how his left hand was completely covered by the sleeve. his hood was down compared to when he last saw him, so his blonde fluffy hair was fully exposed. usually when he was on stream it was styled with loose curls and laid over his forehead, but here it was different. the jimin who was standing in front of him had his hair pushed up and out of his eyes, revealing his forehead and cute eyebrows. it was slightly messy, like he's run his fingers through it a couple of times. that made sense to taehyung though, because on stream jimin had a habit of touching his hair.

and then there was his face, and taehyung felt like he couldn't breathe. it was different from looking at jimin through a computer screen. different, but a good different, is what taehyung decided when he could see nearly every little detail of the shorter's face. unlike on stream, the jimin standing in front of him looked like a true college student. he didn't have glitter scattered across his cheeks or eyes, nor did he have the light eyeliner that he always seemed to wear. he looked youthful, he looked real

here on this bench, taehyung couldn't move. the birds who were loudly singing earlier were completely drowned out. the light breeze that once cooled taehyung down had absolutely lost its effect, as the other felt warmth spread throughout his body in a mixture of embarrassment and infatuation. there were one or two students who walked past, completely unaware of what's happening and minding their own business, seemingly making their way to class or something of the sort. and jimin, the actual, real jimin, stood there awkwardly in the silence.

as much as he wanted to, taehyung really couldn't open his mouth. he couldn't. he had no idea what kind of cluster of words would fall out and the very last thing that he wanted to do was make jimin uncomfortable. so instead, he just sat there, staring wide-eyed at the other as he hovered above him.

and then he realized, his lack of words and expression probably made the other even more uncomfortable. he watched as the shorter shifted, eyes jumping around the court yard before landing on his again, curious yet scrutinizing.

"um," jimin repeated again at the lack of response, seemingly unknowing of what to do.

"what's up?" taehyung had to respond seeing the other's state, trying to be as normal as possible however the words came out a little harsh and strained.

Jimin didn't seem to notice though, visibly relaxing at the very delayed answer. the streamer glanced down at his hands and that's when taehyung noticed. In Jimin's right hand there was nothing other than his wallet.

confused, he stares at it for a second and wonders when the hell did i even drop that thing? before assuming it was when he consumed himself with the image of jimin walking parallel to him. Then, he wonders how jimin even managed to see it drop out of his hoodie's pocket. the blonde must have seen it out of the corner of his eye or something. And now, Taehyung stupidly stares at the brown leather in the other's hands for a little too long, mentally noting how small Jimin's fingers looked wrapped around it before pushing that thought to the back of his mind.
